The "finishing" details were never completed, Bluedeath.

HOWEVER, I just so happen to have finished a re-draw of the whole project in DraftSight. I need to add the alternate layout for the F-15/A-10 style seat pan and then I'll release the drawings.

If nothing else, the CAD drawing would be suitable for either tile-printing or printing via a large format printer.

Thanks Gene please let me know when the plans are ready. I already see my wife looking at me with "the look"(every married man knows what this means) in her eyes, after all this is my last crazy project before I become adult wink.

Deadman - Years ago I purchased the 1/6th scale F-15 cockpit that BB Toys were selling. It comes with a removable ACES II seat that is truly a work of art. The only real difference between the F-15 & A-10 seat pans is the size of the ejection handles. The A-10 uses a "taller" handle, but the basic shape is the same for both seat versions.

Note that this is a "Stand-Off" scale seat model - The guys chasing down museum quality scratch-built seat designs are not the target of my or Chris' seat plans.

Bluedeath: will do. smile

I've got the basic parts drawing done, but I don't know when I'm going to get to finishing it. If you'd like to grab what I have so far, here it is: http://www.geneb.org/acesii/aces ii seat.dwg

You'll either need AutoCAD 2010 or DraftSight(free) to open this file. It was drawn in a metric scale.

The F-15 seat base profile was taken from this model: http://www.diy-cockpits.org/acesii

I haven't added the lower seat details for either version yet. There are probably another four or five parts that should be added. If anyone wants to add those parts, I'd be happy to host the result.

I'll be happy to donate too if needed!

I too have been trying to find a really good ACES II seat blueprint but for the life of me, I cannot get it started correctly ):
That and my drastic inexperience with actually cutting wood/mdf/etc. has set me back. I'm going to buy my own tools to practice and get the real feel next weekend.

My friend has some equipment from work that I think he has a large format printer I can use. By this I can make somewhat, like a stencil correct?
