Hello all, I recently got a new system OS = Win7 Pro. I'm a die hard sim racer with simrig & all, but would like to try some combat flight sims. A couple days ago I bought a basic logitech joystick "3D Pro", & installed the game "Rise of Flight - Iron Cross". I can not stop playing this game, love it! In fact my butt is dragging today because I couldn't tear myself away from the game last nite. Very impressive plane models & the ground scenery is amazing! Anyway, I'm now looking to try a good WWII sim & have no clue which to try. I have an original copy of IL2 from 2001, but was a little scared to install it on my new machine, due to its age.

If you went out today looking to buy a good WWII sim what would it be?

Thx,
Ham

Hello!

Welcome to the simming club. wink Pick up yourself a copy of IL-2: 1946 from here: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/il_2_sturmovik_1946

It will work on Windows 7 64-bit with little to no hassle. When you install it, just install it to a folder in your C: drive, and NOT into C:\Program Files(x86)\

Thanks ArgonV! I've been poking around the net & it seems IL2 is THE game everyone recommends. I assume that gog.com's version is the latest version?

Thanks,
Ham

For purchase yes, yes it is. There is a Patch to it, which brings it to version 4.10
