You may want to check with Magnum, but from his screenies and videos of the Dirt3 Single Player race/timetrial mode in the screenshot forum, it looks like Dirt3 comes with 85%+ of the cars unlocked without having to do the career (even the Group B classic cars)... I haven't had much time to play yet and I am focusing on the career mode, but that is what it seemed to me as well from looking in the "Garage" where it list cars.

So from what I could tell it looks like the "unlock the cars" situation is minimal compared to Shift2/GT5/Forza3 etc...

I was just going to post that as well. If you do the career mode, you are limited and follow a 'path' of car progression.

You can choose singleplayer though, and pick any course in any weather condition, and it looks like a good majority of the cars available.

Cheers!

Kludger, from what I gather at the official forum, to do full five-stage rallys you need to go into Season 3 or Stage 3 or what it's called in the career. SP quick race only gives you single stages to drive. What I'd want is the WRC Ford Focus and all four countries/5 stages unlocked.

BTW, I just found this about Dirt2:

Quote:
In February 2009, Codemasters revealed plans to release "a number of small DLC packs soon after launch which players can use to personalise and augment the boxed game".[13] At the time of release, however, only two DLC options were available: "Trust Fund", which unlocks all vehicles, liveries and upgrades, and "Access All Areas", which unlocks all events and tracks.[14] There have been no further DLC releases.

And there I thought it was Shift2 that came up with the idea. So basically not only do they prevent the player from enjoying the game he wants from Day1, they then charge extra for that ability.

I think Codies and EA have seen the last of my money. Ripping of customers like that simple is inexuseable.

I saw no evidence of these on the PC. Maybe they were console-only options?

Yeah same here on PC, no DLC shown to unlock cars or tracks on Dirt2 or Dirt3, they actually had one Dirt3 DLC available already that adds more cars but it is free, I already installed it but did not have time to check which cars.

IMHO Dirt3 has a lot of cars included even compared with RBR which shipped with 5 rally cars I think?
