The two-hour pilot for Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome (2011) has begun filming. As a fan of Battlestar: Galactica (both the original and the reboot), Battlestar: Galactica: Razor, and aspects of Caprica, I am looking forward to what the scifi show’s creators come up with. I am also looking forward to the early experiments on human beings by Cyclons and the space battles that occur with “a young William Adama during the 10th year of the first Cylon war.” We already reported how Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome cast Luke Pasqualino, Ben Cotton in the key roles in the upcoming series.

So we know they are currently making or have finished the pilot but there is no word yet from SyFy when it will air.

Did they close out V properly?

As far as I know they did not. I don't watch the show myself but several friends of mine who watched it religiously mentioned that the final episode was NOT by any means a proper series closer.

I saw every episode (I think), and the ending could be taken two ways: in the last 3 minutes it was shown as being the start of a giant coordinated final assault on the V's taking an hour, a day or week...or it could be interpreted as the end of the guerrilla #%&*$# and the start of a global counterattack starting off a totally fresh campaign taking months or years.

I didn't really care too much for the ending. Frankly I was expecting more really...

Anna/Queen was spectacular, she by herself elevated this show, including the ending. At times I got so frustrated with the losers in the "resistance" that I sometimes wanted the V's to win! If only to smack the stupid out of the human twits.

Gah. Such a great beginning, yet it just got bogged down too quick. At the start we see they have overwhelming surveillance of our populations, using jacket patches, phone intercepts and spy drones, and can fly a "grenade sniper bomb" into a room and selectively kill the enemies while leaving the friendlies unscathed...yet the guerrillas then spend two years yapping at each other about operations over their cell phones!??! Are you freaking kidding me!?!

Ok, sure, I don't want to show real world terror cell methods on network tv, but I mean c'mon, let's not also be "full retard" about this!

V Pretty Much Ended the Same way as SGU.


A Big Conflict, followed by revealing something of a plot twist, followed by a long sequence/shot fading to credits, no closure.

only difference is, V, 50& of the main characters were killed off.

No closure to the storyline AT ALL. none.

In both cases the final ep was shot as a season finale, not a series finale. Same with most series. The last show I remember that got cancelled that was able to scramble and get a series finale shot at the last minute was Enterprise, and THAT was a Galaxy-class fiasco.
I recall Jolene Blalock called it "appalling."

These TV show creators should lobby for final show stipulations in their initial contracts. It would allow for funding of one final two hour episode if their series is cancelled. It's a travesty that these series just disappear. I too think that these TV execs are way too quick to put the hammer down on many of these series.

It's the "instant ratings" problem. In years passed they needed a few months to see what ratings were. Now they know the next day, for every episode. That means they can cut them fast.
The other problem is more for the basic cable networks, and that's the "order and film them then air them a LOT later" syndrome. Network TV tends to work on "as needed" cycle (like Firefly) so you get maybe 3-4 eps made after the cancellation order is given. This means you tend not to get a finale, but also that seasons get cut short.
Then you have Caprica and SGU where the shows are done filming, then they start to air, and they may decide to cancel the series and there's no chance of having any closure.

It's TNT. I have little hope for its success, regardless of how good it is.

Isn't that about dinosaurs. That's not really scifi, in my book at least.

I'd say it's based on sci-fi concepts:

"Centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization."

It's the time travel that makes it sci-fi.

I can't think of one way to put humans and dinosaurs together that isn't SF in some way.
Fantasy uses dragons and unicorns and mythical beasts, not dinos.

SyFy is currently negotiating with Cast members not under MGM contract, to reviving the Sarah Connor Chronicles for 1 season.

SyFy Bought the Rights to the Show, Syndication, and the right to produce new episodes earlier this spring, and has been airing the episodes in chunks for the last 3 months (one day they aired the entire season 2 in back to back episodes.)

Isn't Lena Headey occupied with Game of Thrones right now? Or are they not bringing that back?
As for Summer Glau, she's always free because whatever she picks goes under!

When I first started reading your reply Panzer, here's what I thought you were going to say:

Lena is busy with Game of Thrones, which has been renewed for season 2. But giving shooting schedules, who knows, she might have time to do TSCC also.

No SyFy is currently trying to get the actors under contract to Finish the S.C.C. Storyline, they acquired the rights and want to finish the story line with a 3rd and final season, they realize they are in the #%&*$# with what they did with Stargate and other shows.

Some actors have since moved on, while others are readily available... TBH No Summer Glau = alot of pissed fans.

The big problem I see with that is the unlikely possibility of gaining new viewers who aren't familiar with the show. If they continue the story from where it left off on Fox then that will really only appeal to the fans who were already watching the show on Fox since season 1.

SyFy has been showing Season1 and Season2 more than the 17 seasons of SG1 in their library.

Ah ok, that makes sense which is a very rare thing for SyFy to do! lol

With "The Cape" cancelled, maybe Summer Glau would be back. ???

I would think if they brought it back for a single season only, so therefore it starts off as a cancelled show that is just going to produce a few more shows, she would be there in a flash!

She is attracted to doomed projects like a moth to a zapper...

Hey, Fox renewed Fringe when pretty much all of the tv critics and insiders were convinced it was going to be cancelled so give Fox some credit.

yeah but Fringe isn't any good, so...

I think Summer Glau has been in every quickly Cancelled SciFi Series since 2000, MGM wanted her in SGU to play Chloe...

She must have thought SG had a chance, based on it being the 2nd spinoff of a successful franchise, so she turned it down.

The Event wasn't so bad, a bit corny in bits but OK. It moved along quite well and covered a lot of ground for 1 season.
A nice cliffhanger at the end too, shame we never got to see the "Event" tho.
It could probably be cut down to a mini series and be very entertaining.

Yes, because it's a spin-off of the Geico cavemen series. Who, I hear, will make a cameo appearance on the pilot episode to "pass the torch," as it were.

Yes, the final ep of the Event promised some interesting things ahead. Also we were finally told in broad terms what "the event" was, although earlier trailers made it seem like it was going to be global extinction and then was not!
