I'm not sure I like the reference for the need to "register" and "activate" the hardware or the software player though. Why do these companies always insist to monitor and "need to grant" me the use of a 160EUR hardware package? But in principle the tech seems simple, especially since I don't need remote IR control or such.

There are wireless HDMI extenders, but they aren't cheap (yet). 200-300$US
