Hello!

I want to ask how often do u use the 1/2 Time Acceleration for Shooting.
I use it now for every Fight and I hit more Planes than ever.
But is this not cheating?
I mean Richthofen doesn`t have this Option.....

When I fight with Real Time, than I shoot down only 2-3 Planes with a full Mag.
With 1/2 Time I shoot down 7-8 Planes.

Or is it better for a Beginner like me to start with Battles in 1/2 Time?
Do I learn it sometime?

Greetings.

Sorry for that baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad English.....

Well, IRL pilots were sometimes frightened enough that the subjective perception of time would decrease by more than fifty percent (the mind becoming like a reflex, but conscious).

However, I only really use 1/2 time when my machine can't run RoF at normal speeds (RoF automatically slows down time, but I find it is easier to select 1/2 - since it keeps time from gradually speeding up without warning)

I used it for the entirety of my first few dogfights . . .

Until I finally realized the reason the game seemed to be running so slow, was that I kept accidentally setting it to 1/2 time . . .

I have never once chosen to slow down time while I am flying. I do, however, sometimes use the option while watching recordings, and quite often on my old computer the sim forced me into half-time because it couldn't handle running the sim at full speed with all of the A.I. flying.

It does make gunnery easier. But in addition to realism concerns, it makes you worse of a flier. When time goes back to normal (in my case, when I'd shot down enough A.I. that the program was able to run at full speed again), suddenly everything is much more difficult.

"Hard training, easy war." Easy training, hard war.

In my view, if you are offline (which you obviously are) and not posting videos to show your awesome gunnery skills with videos sped back up to real-time, more power to ya. Its all about you enjoying the product you bought.

Of course this does not apply to people who hack online to get an advantage, that is obviously wrong.

Actually it kind of reminds me back when the original Wing Commander came out. My 286 would play it like a View-Master, but I could line up shots like nobody's business!

I was shocked at that 5MB install though, it was a large chunk of space for a game on my 40MB hard drive.

There are no players who hack online in Rise of Flight. Please don't spread false rumors.

That is indeed a very nasty rumour to spread. It has the potential to undermine confidence in the sim, the devs, and the community which means people on the fence about buying it just might not. If you have evidence, then I suggest you PM Jason at 777 to get it straightened out immediately.

I did not mean to (nor did I) say RoF had been or was being hacked. I certainly was not spreading any 'rumor' about it. It was a general statement that I would consider people in who hack online games cheaters, as opposed to people who use mods in solo play.

Yeah, only time I use this is when making movies or trying to catch just the right screenshot.

...but to actually fly with it? Bizarre! No thanks...

no judgment, if that's what you like, but for me? No thanks....

I don't use the 1/2 time option and didn't even realise there was one until now lmao. I don't use time compression either, although I've flown a few times where I was tempted. The only sim I've used time compression in is Silent Hunter series...I'm not a true naval sim grognard ahoy
