Welcome to the club Cicero! Rob I couldn't hold out any longer. Just ordered the Iron Cross edition. Cheers. I think I'll go and read 'Sagittarius Rising' and 'Aces High' until it comes.

ROF: a wallpaper in every frame. Nice!....why didn't I think of that!? I've always said, ROF is the first sim where it's almost as fun to watch as it is to fly.

Probably not with everything maxed out or too many planes in the air at once, but it should definitely be enough to run it at average settings with good FPS. I'm not sure what the difference in performance would be using a dual core instead of a quad though. Your system matches the min requirements for a XP/Vista system (as per the back of the box) so I'd say gove it a try !
All I'm cettain of is I was expecting an engine like RoF's to be far more demanding than it has been so far in my experience.
Cool beans. I'm gonna give it a try. Best looking flight sim out there at the moment, IMO. It just looks "right" in an EAW sort of way.

Semmern,
Just be forwarned, if you use a dual-core cpu and Win7 it will not run appropriately. I ran it on an E6600 on Windows XP for a few months and it ran just great, however upgraded to Win 7 and it was a slideshow. It is a known issue with dual core cpu's. I purchased a used Q6600 (quad core), dropped it in and it ran fine again. I guess it has to do with hyperthreading or now Win 7 handles multiple threads.
***Apparently it will work with 32 bit Win 7, just not 64 bit*** Thanks for the correction.

I was running it from beta stage on 32 BIT WIN7, 2.4GHZ Dual Core, 2 GB RAM and 8800GT. Ran great on default medium settings, Post Effects OFF.

So, consensus is that it will run fine in a dual core with 32 bit Win 7???

I will correct my statement that it did not work for me on 64-bit Windows 7. I can't confirm it will work on 32-bit. Will have to rely on Mohawk for that determination as I have not tested it.
