I've been using the Floris mod but I like the look of the HYW mod may give it a try.

The general umbrella forum at the top of this section, "General - Tactical sims" would be a good choice.

I have Fire and Blade on pre-order and it's out today which should make for interesting battles with muskets and flintlocks involved now smile

Anyone on this forum able to finish the single player (vanilla, no mods) Warband game/campaign?

I was able to finish the original M&B (by keeping the enemy faction leaders and not ransoming them), but with Warband, because the enemy faction leaders in your jail are automatically released when their faction makes "peace" with you, it's now impossible to finish the game.

I have 3 enemy factions left in the game but most of the time, it's them all at once against me - so they would be besieging one castle on one side of the map to another. My ally "Lords" are useless when they're under siege so it would be up to me to be rushing from one side of the map and on to the next side.

Then there's all the wages and other financial losses that I'm incurring... I'm finding that there's just no sense of accomplishment with this game.
