You just need the game and patch 2.0 to run the sim. I'm not aware of any issues with Win7. Members on this forum reported it worked fine.
Please let us know how it goes ...either way. Be sure to check out Doc's B172 links for add ons etc.. http://glewis.us/v7th_Recon/helplinks.htm

I run Win 7 64 bit.
I have B-17 II installed on my second (bootable) disc (Win XP).
This was some time ago but I'm pretty sure it's because it wouldn't run on Win 7 64 bit for me.

I'm going to try installing it tonight and see what happens.

B-17 works fine on my Vista 64 machine so would be suprised if Win 7 was a problem. You may still need to apply the registry tewak to stop the sound of guns cutting out after a short time, as described below:

Ok,I got it to run on Win 7 64 bit with no hassle at all.

I installed it using compatibility mode (Win XP) and then ran it doing the same.

Wish Gunship! would do the same.

Never installed a game under XP Compatibility mode - but will have to try it. How do you do it?

btw, my copy of B-17 II arrived.. but minus the beautiful color command card I had with the original game ten years ago. Anyone have a good scan?

Right click on the install file (setup.exe probably) then select properties followed by compatibility then select XP mode.I used XP (service pack 3).
