With the demise of Lighthouse Interactive, is TvT now classed as abandonware? I have been looking to see who now holds the right to the game but have not been able to find who is the new owner, if anyone.

Does anyone here know who now owns TvT?

If no one owns TvT is it then abandonware?

Jeff

I would think, whatever company (bank) owns the bankruptcy note to Lighthouse... always a iffy thing to follow.

(just a guess, I don't know.)

I would think it's highly unlikely that it would be abandonware.
Magnum is probably right.

You could always try distributing it for free and see who lines up to sue you? hahaha
Joking of course.

Sorce code uses literary copywrite. If the publisher is out of business, then the rights revert back to the author. G5 is the author of TvT. If Lighthouse did not use TvT to settle some portion of it's debt and did not sell it, then you need permission from G5.

As to abandomware (quote Wikipedia)
Quote:
In most cases, software classed as abandonware is not in the public domain, as it has never had its original copyright revoked and some company or individual still owns exclusive rights. Therefore, downloading such software is usually considered copyright infringement, though in practice copyright holders rarely enforce their abandonware copyrights.
