Yes, excellent news, thank you Pat. Now all I have to do is find where that new link is again... Could you update/edit the link on the first page away from the original 'Wings of Honor'? The page 1 link in this thread still takes you to RoF Campaign 6.1. FYI NEW DOWNLOAD LINK

OK, bad start flight position for Vert Galland No.56 Squadron May 1917. I think that is a road (or train track?) passing through the airfield. Sure looks different than the generic airfields at most other places... EDIT: I have not had any luck with version 9 of the generator. Three missions, three different problems. Sent an email...

I started several RFC campaigns with version 9 tonight, various dates in 1916 and 1917, RNAS 3 and 8 and RFC 29, 32 and 70. Every mission began with planes stuck in hangars, except the RNAS 8 missions where the aerodrome had no buildings at all (and was located on the very edge of the map, 80km from the lines). One mission with RNAS 8 wasn't even on the map at all; the map was just a blank page.
When I was able to to get into the air, there were no enemy planes anywhere near my flight. There were massive, dozen-plane furballs going on miles away from me, but my flight was all alone. Sometimes the dog fights were so far away, they didn't even show up on the map until I enlarged it; they literally were 150km away from me. This happened in five straight missions.
I ran probably 16 missions overall. I couldn't get in the air at all due to plane placement in half of them. In the other half, my flight was miles and miles from the action. I literally saw no one but my wingmen all night.
I've flown dozens of missions with version 8 and never found myself isolated to this degree. Seems to be a serious problem with the player positioning in this version.

Thanks, Pat!
Vert Galland has been that way for the past few versions. Planes are blocked inside a complex of hangars. You can steer around them but the AI just crash into the buildings.

I've seen it a couple of times with version 8. But last night with version 9, I had it with every single aerodrome that had buildings on it, three of four different aerodromes altogether. The only place it wasn't a problem was at the RNAS 8 aerodrome on the extreme edge of the map, and it didn't have any buildings at all.

I plan to release one bug fix/enhancement patch per week. I know what is happening with the alled aerodromes and at least the generic ones will be corrected by this weekend. For the time being, use air start if your takeoffs are messed up.
There is also a bug in version 9.0 that may cause missions not to load. That is also fixed and will be released in 9.01 (thanks for the bug report Bandy).
Version 9.0 was a very disruptive change, but besides adding some pretty good stuff it lays the groundwork for everything that will come after.

The aircraft are lined up to hit the hangars in every campaign I'm running now. They are all Allied campaigns.
And (and this was true in Version 8 as well) there is lots of enemy activity (I can see on the map if I have icons on) but it rarely comes anywhere near my route (if I'm flying the waypoints and am using all the default settings).
It used to be I always ran into some bad guys.
Now, unless I go hunting for them, I never do.
My route and the enemy routes do not intersect.
Could you please look into that, too?
Sounds like you plan to continue to develop the CG in the future. Wonderful news!

Disruptive changes are always, well, disruptive and accompanied by wailing and gnashing of the teeth. But in the end it always brings about long term benefits.
We're behind you Pat, thanks for all the effort you're putting into this. It sounds like it is going places!

I will definitely look into the routng. I new that routes would be somewhat affected but I am surprised that they are as heavily affected as they are. Like all things, it can be tweaked back into place.
