Honestly, you either like it or hate it!
The fighting is fun, once you have a good ship, otherwise you are a moving target, but the trading is the heart of the game, playing it for more than 100 hours is not an exception to the rule, its the norm. It´s cool since it´s a trading sim, that is not just fixed to menues, but also has action and a story. So I challenge that statement, It is going to be totally worth the comeout price of 49 Euros, heck even more, more so than any Call of Duty or Red River ever was.
All X games were hard games were you had to earn everything, If you had a destroyer you knew that you had actually earned it. And trading got never boring, since it´s a dynamic trading system in which the prices are tied to supply and demand. Plus you could outsmart the other traders or just outrun them on a cargo run, if you upgraded your ship. Plus you could build your own stations and ships, so you could really build up your own empire. Plus you had direct control over your ship unlike in EVE. Now if they made an MP mode for it, or an MMO that would be awesome, but I fear its in the far future. Also the X-games have a very rich background, which get´s increasingly rare. And a good modding community.
