Spent last week hiking in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. April 15 while on the summit of Hunter Peak (8258' ASL) we had FIFI fly past going east apparently out of El Paso, and two Apaches out of Fort Bliss. Not what I was expecting so I was only able to get some shots in auto, which makes the aircraft almost look like models against the clear sky.

Nice captures of the aircraft, especially considering that you weren't expecting to take aircraft photos. I'd love to see a B-29 in flight.

Very nice scenery captures, too, I love the view and sense of scale.

You have some lovely scenery there; the penultimate photo is a very good picture of contrasting scales.
Having a B-29 fly over must be pretty awesome too!

It was pretty exciting as I have never seen a B-29 in flight. Distinctive sound too. Guadalupe Nat'l Park is a real gem and terrific place for hiking. Difficult to take a bad photo really.

Good Stuff Nicholas, Fifi is the only flying B-29 in the world so you definitely saw something rare.
She's supposed to be making a stop at the WWII weekend in Reading, PA and I'm definitely stoked to see her!
It's not that far from you so you should definitely think about check out the show, here's the link:
