Thanks Gene - your BF109 pit was a big inspiration to me. Originally I was going to jump right in and try and make something along similar lines, but I don't have the skills at this stage, so I thought I'd keep it simple initially. I have plenty of wood left over from this build so I plan to experiment with some bulkheads and start planning a proper enclosed pit that is more realistic like the 109.

Don't underestimate the value of cardboard as a prototyping material. smile

Spending time to learn SketchUp (it's free) will be a big help for you as well.

Well here it is in my room (thanks to my very understanding girlfriend for allowing me to take up so much space)

Ignore the old CRT - still waiting for stock to arrive of the 27" LCD - all working and comfortable apart from a calibration issue I'm having with the Saitek throttle quadrant - if any ones got any advice on that one I'd love to hear it!

But I'm pretty happy with it - now to start planning the control panels!!

Why should I ignore the old CRT? Looks like a pretty good monitor, especially if it's one of the 21" FD Trinitrons or Diamondtron NFs.
