THe new HBO series, "A Game of Thrones" starts tonight.

Based on the bestselling "A Song of Ice and Fire" series by George R R Martin, the first 10-episode season will cover the story in the first book, "A Game of Throne".

I am reallllly looking forward to this. Hopefully HBO will quickly be picking it up for a second season.

Will Amazon or iTunes carry the show for those of us without HBO? confused

The books were tremendous. I am waiting for the final ending.

I read last night a number of the actresses spend a lot of time topless!

I'm reading the series, but we do not HBO, so I will not be watching. So I want to hear if it is good or not.

While the books are classed as fantasy, the series reads more like the War of the Roses. Magic and Dragons only have a minor role.
I really enjoyed the series, though I thought the fourth book had too much filler in it.
My favourite character in the books is Tyrion Lannister.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that - I guess it's just an HBO standard approach for their shows. I wasn't really looking for it, and wasn't into the books at all (I hadn't even heard of them until I saw the ads for the HBO series), but ran across it while flipping channels last night. It was already on when I came to it and I didn't look to see when it started so I didn't know how much I missed. Luckily, HBO was running it pretty much non-stop last night, so I was able to catch the beginning (as it turned out, I didn't miss much the first time).

More nudity and swearing than I was expecting. I'm not a prude by any means, and I thought the nudity more or less fit in, but the swearing just sounded too modern-day-reality to me, and kind of killed the suspension of disbelief for me.

I am looking forward to seeing Sean Bean play a good guy. I think the only time I've seen him play a good guy was in "Sharpe's Rifles" (Boromir had a good heart, but was made out as a threat and caused problems, at least in the movie).

Sean Bean was a good fellow in Black Beuty.
