This would be an effect that needed changing - not really my area - but if you look at the ground objects data.ini file it should tell you something like:

[GroundObjectData]
.....
DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect

Where there should be an ini file relating to or including VehicleFireEffect that will have the variable you can change something like Lifetime= which would then go into the effects folder

Or install this effects pack:

http://combatace.com/files/file/11802-unified-effects-pack-10/

Effects editing is something I've never gotten the hang of. Stary is the master, so I just use his packs. The one I linked is some amazing work.

Can anyone direct me to the sound file for the T6-Texan II? I've downloaded it from Combat Ace and Column 5. Neither include a sound file for the aircraft.

Hi fellas!

I'm brand spanking new to Strike Fighters, and while I'm waiting for SF2E to download, I thought I'd grab Beach's training missions and follow along - they look great! I've downloaded TM-02 just fine, but I get a 404 error when I try to download TM-01 at the top of this page. Can anyone help please?

Cheers
Kiwi

EDIT: Ok - figured this out, it's just a typo in the link at the top of the thread. Here's the correct url to download this first training mission from Beach's website:

http://www.mudspike.com/SF/TM01.zip

Hope you don't mind me posting the correction here Beach.

I'm really loving this series of AARs, I've got the first two missions loaded up and working beautifully. Between the AARs, the excellent read-me files included in the mods, and TKs user/mod friendly program design - this whole setup is a real winner. Hell - TK even has an offical .cat extractor utility available for download from the ThirdWire site... how excellent is THAT!

Cheers everyone - I'm a very happy camper!! cheers
Kiwi

I haven't spotted any posts about a fix for this, but the AT-6B from later in this series apparently has sound files included. I'll try downloading it tonite - hopefully it's just a simple file swap into the T-6A folders?

Pop the PC-9_Engine.wav from the AT-6B mod into your sounds folder and you'll have some nice sounds for you T-6A also. Result! thumbsup

Here I am on the apron after Mission Two! Still lots to learn... having a ball!

Cheers! cheers

I've managed to get the T6 up, but the game is not recognising the missions...

I downloaded the files and placed them in the mission folder (C:/user/savedgame/thirdwire/strikefighters2/mission

mission 1 and 2 are listed as 6kb msn file...do i need to do something with these files?

am I missing something?

Do you have the terrain in your install that the mission was made for?
