Im about to start building my Wingnutz SE5 kit. Im going to the hobby store next week to pick up what I need. As far as paint goes, Is there a specific Green shade that works well for a WW1 SE5? Some seem to have a little brown tint to them. I want it to look weathered. Also I noticed on some of the finished kits Ive seen online, they have done something to get the stiching on the side to show up nicely. Not ure how to do that. Anyone build this model who can share some tips?

Thanks,

Rob

Hmm.. don't think there are many WWI colours around straight out of the bottle. I imagine olive drab mixed with some earth brown would do nicely. I've noticed the brownish tint too.

As for the stitching, there is a variety of ways. You can apply decals, which come with some kits, or you can carve a lot of tiny notches in a line, which will simulate stitching pretty good. This, of course, takes a while if the kit is big and your patience isn't biggrin

Check out this excellent site, lots of info, kit build-ups and articles on "How to" and what's available in WWI aftermarket.
