This made me laugh a bit. biggrin Hope it is one of those "lost in translation" kind of things. biggrin

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

Don't mean to toot my own horn, but I already reported this about a week ago.. wink

NuggetX even did a quite funny "Top-Gun"-poster (complete with Oleg-portrait) based on the "afterburner"-screenshot ... biggrin

But at least that function works as advertised in the 109 - even though it didn't have a WEP-"button" in RL AFAIK. Seems that some RAF-planes run at increased boost @100% joystick-throttle. I think I may have ruined quite a few Merlins that way...

On a side note, that screenshot also demonstrates very well some of the LOD issues I've heard about.

I'm surprised it's a square on the ground. I'd have expected a circle.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine!

IIRC, they had a bit of safety wire that marked the boundary between full and "military full" throttle; break the wire and it told the mechanic to swap the engine and tear it down in the shop.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.

I seem to remember that as well, Dart. Since we don't have that wire on our sticks/throttles (at least I don't have it wink it would be nice if there'd be a way to insure that the engine will only run on max-safe power with your stick's throttle set to 100%. I mean: Isn't that what the WEP-keys are for? They even inlcuded two of those in the options, but the only planes I found them to work on so far are the 109 and the Ju88. (Backspace - "Afterburner").

The other one ("W") only seems to bring the throttle up to max-setting when I push it with stick-throttle at anything less than 100%.

for the Spits, Hurris and Blenheim you first have to enable the "emergency boost cut out" (different command than the WEP in the 109 and 87) , after that you are able to get a 110% throttle.
Shown if you have enabled the % numbers in the Infowindow.

Butn , at least before the friday patch, only the Spitfire II and Blenheim (not sure wit the last...) you get more manifold pressure on your gauge with 110%. in the others there seems no benefit.

I missed Sacha's post about this. Oh well.
