This Thursday at 9/8c, For those looking to See the series for the first time, Series was cancelled by Fox after Season 2.
Season 2 Finale was a cliff hanger and not a Series finale, Producers were expecting a renewal, No Information on a restart to the series or a Mini/Movie to end the story line,.

No Information on a restart to the series or a Mini/Movie to end the story line,. Considering the very lackluster box office performance of Salvation, I'd say that a revival of the series or even a direct to dvd movie is highly doubtful. I think the Terminator franchise is dead unless Cameron were to return to it.

The show and Salvation had nothing to do with each other. They seemed to take pains to stay out of each other's way, in fact.

The Jedi Master I'm pretty sure that most of the public associates those two as being part of the same franchise, same universe. Quite simply anything with the word "Terminator" in the title.

I don't know, if it was a pick between Cameron and T-X, I'm going T-X.

I loved Salvation and I really got into the show. It had some stinker episodes, and took itself a little too seriously, but still very good if you keep up with it. The season 2 cliffhanger looked like the show might take a serious turn for the better too. You can stream them all on Netflix. The show kind of addressed any inconsistencies by being alterations in the timeline due to what was going on. When the human time travelers run across each other, they mention comparing dates of Judgment Day to figure out if they're from the same timeline.

and took itself a little too seriously, This statement can mean different things for different people so how did you find this to be the case with the show?

Not the show so much as the human characters. As in every day things are treated as depressing life/death issues. Of course, a lot of that fits with the storyline and Terminator 2, but they just seemed to over do it sometimes. Lifeless, emotionless conversations, whipping out *pistols* constantly, looking tough--but everyone knows you can't put a bullet into a Terminator and expect it to do anything. They never learned to just GO! LOL Or at least carry something with some real firepower. That and the opportunities to strike at Skynet's formation just seemed to pop up a little too conveniently episode to episode. I enjoyed it, I just thought they over did it sometimes.

I haven't watched the show but I understand what you're talking about. For example, I was and still am a big fan of "Caprica" but I admit that it could have used a little joke or laugh here and there. I can pretty much say with confidence that from the 20 episodes that were made of Caprica there are less than 3 or 4 slightly humorous lines I can think of! LOL At least BSG had some comedy which was used sparingly but it was almost always effective.

That was the great part about SG-1 and SGA. They had humor in the show without it getting in the way. The stories were serious 99% of the time (there were exceptions, but unlike say the X Files they worked well) but you had cast members that could be counted on quipping a line or making a gesture or whatever to evoke laughs. That was actually something RDA stipulated when he took over the role of Oneill. He said "I liked what Kurt Russell did in the film, but I can't be that serious every week for season after season without losing my mind." He also stipulated the show have an ensemble cast more like ST or B5 rather than just 2 leads like the film or X Files...he really didn't want the entire show riding on his shoulders like MacGyver did. Then there's SGU which is if anything less humorous than BSG.

Kurt Russell was definitely intense in the Stargate film and it worked great but I agree completely with what RDA said how that wouldn't quite work for a weekly tv series season after season.

My wife got me to start watching Friday Night Lights. Same problem. "Why are these people always miserable?" They seem to thrive on just not being happy, no matter what! LOL "Intense" is good, but it's got to be tempered some.
