Hi! I am a newbie at < B-17 Flying Fortress-the Mighty 8th > .
Can't get started on "flying" until I clear up some questions.

QUESTIONS
1. Is it necessary
to use your memory to operate the Default keyboard commands?

2. The default commands can be printed out using the Default < Control Keys > that appear
on the last page , p 147, of the game Manual.

3. Do you use the Default commands ? Have you CUSTOMIZED the <Control Key>?
If so, how can the CUSTOMIZED commnands be printed out?

Thanks for whatever advice you can offer!

Hi Marty,

You can use your mouse to control your crew and most of their duties inside the B17. There are however commands that require key stokes. Especially if your into engine management . Most detailed simulations have this downside. A good programmable stick is a real asset as is a key reference card on your lap.

There is a reference key card available for download that came with the original game from Doc’s site under “Replacement Game Manual and Quick Start Guide” …I checked the link- works fine. *** THANKS DOC! http://glewis.us/v7th_Recon/helplinks.htm

You can change key assignments. From the main menu : Go to Player Options/Controls . From the contols screen you should be able change any key assignment. The commands are shown in the left panel . Click on any of these commands on the left and the keystrokes are shown in the right panel. You change the keys used for a commands by clicking the key shown in the right panel. The sim will scan whatever key you input. You can also change key modifiers (shift, ctrl) here as well. Make sure you save your changes.

I don’t know of any way to print your changes to key assignments. Mine are noted on my key reference card.

Hope this helps
Vox
