Hey fellas... he's a question for y'all!

I've been playing (and LOVING by the way) Sins of a Solar Empire. SO when I was in Fry's and saw Star Wars - Empire at War, I was curious how it stacked up?

So that's the Q! How do the two compare?

Sins is a bit more in-depth with all of the research you can do and with how the economics works but both games are very similar in how they play. One big difference is that Empire At War has a ground combat component which Sins does not.

Of course EaW came out first, so I experienced them in the opposite way.

Unlike Sins, where everything is one map zoomable to any level, EaW has 3 parts...a "strategic" galaxy map where you go from system to system (this is like Sins when you're building factories and labs and researching and whatnot), a "tactical" RTS-style map where the ships fight (this is closest to Sins' way of doing things for combat), and a ground combat level which has no analogue in Sins and is more like Company of Heroes with Star Wars units.
