XPFR has released their very nice B-17G for X-Plane 9.x...

Available HERE

It has a very nice 3D cockpit and very good systems modeling. Don't expect to just load it and be able to start it up without doing some studying of the manual. While not as detailed as something like payware FSX aircraft, it is a great plane for the money.. wink

Detailed engine start-up and management controls..

I felt some satisfaction when I finally got an engine started..

Nice sound effects and a big, lumbering feel to it..

46" of manifold pressure for takeoff..

Airborne for the first time..

The cowl flaps open for the climb.. 42"MP and 2400 RPM...

The 3D model is very nice. The textures aren't super crisp, but nice overall..

Feathered the #1 engine..

Landing with #1 feathered..

Still a bit to explore with it. They modeled a semi-realistic autopilot panel and some damage features..

I give it a thumbs-up.. thumbsup

Beach, was that 10 degrees flaps on takeoff ?

It was an arbitrary flap takeoff setting. The gauge isn't marked, and the toggle switch allows for infinite settings, so I made an assumption/approximation of what I figured t/o flap setting might be.. biggrin

Yep, found this one a few days back. It's been eating up an awful lot of my time lately. Mighty fun to play with though!

Cheers!

It's one of the best looking X-Plane aircraft that I've seen Wheels, and it's a lot of fun to fly if you don't mind having to do a cold and dark start-up and follow the checklists every time you fly. I like it and haven't been flying much else since I downloaded it. I'd highly recommend it.

Cheers!
