It will.

It falls in the range stated for that mobo.

Awesome, thanks smile

Edit:

Actually, I just checked the ram I have now, and it's $40
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231396

That said, I'm assuming I could just add two more of those sticks, yes? I have 4 total slots/Dual channel.

I'll also add that I'm not doing this for raw gaming performance. I'm doing more work now with freelance market analasys, and will be making reports (adobe design suite will be running a lot), have skype running pretty much 24/7, three or four Firefox windows at a time, MS office outlook going, etc. That's where the ram is going.

F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL is not on the Verified Memory Support List for that mainboard,

There is a Similar Spec Dimm, but its the 4GB Set (2x2GB Dims).
G.SKILL 2GB F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ.

I'd Email Gigabyte first.

Yea, the 8gb I posted also says "specifically for sandy bridge processors" I assumed it meant it was made with them in mind, but would still be compatible.

At this point I'll get another set of 4gb, (2x4gb) if that's advisable.

You generally get better stability when OC with just two stick of memory. If you are not OC, then four stick is OK, but if you are OC, think about just two sticks.

I'm stock clock for now. Don't have the income yet to afford to replace any major components. As a personal policy, I don't OC anything I can't afford to replace.

I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the info guys

I have 8GB of the subject GSKILL memory (paid $75 and note its on sale for $75 today) combined with 8GB of what seems to be identical memory (paid $100) with a different heat sink design -- total 16GB.

I have an ASUS 890GX motherboard and Phenom II 1090T CPU OCd (however, I do not OC memory -- runs at 1333 which is what the 1090 wants).

Works for me.

But, I too wondered about the "made for Intel" slogan. I think only the heatsink changed vs the memory I bought a few months ago -- more dramatic and bigger heatsink -- so it doesn't fit under some coolers -- if it wasn't my "second" bank memory, it would not fit under my cooler-fan. Some improvement smile Maybe that's why they dropped the price to $75 smile

Cooler shouldn't be a problem, my Gigabyte 890fx board has the hyper 212 sitting well clear of the mem channels. Thanks for the info though Allen, nice to know someone else has this working on AMD hardware.

That's good to know as I was concerned the cooler might interfere with the memory. Do you have 2 fans mounted in a Push/Pull configuration? If not, is your fan on the memory side?

Actually, I just looked, and I may have spoke too soon. I have the fan in push config on the memory side. There is clearance, and I believe that I would be able to clear the fan with the subject rams heat sink, but only just.

Yes, push pull.

The new larger heat sink memory is a close fit -- not quite enough room. In my heatsink, the shrouds that connect the fans to the heat sink can "slide up" to make enough clearance (only need to slide one). The fan will no longer be centered perfectly; but, I doubt that matters -- just a neatness thing.

However, some fan attachments aren't adjustable for fan height. Those might have a harder to fix issue. Or could go to "pull" for the fan -- if they have only one fan.

Anyhow, I brought it up because I did not want anyone to get "blind sided". The memory is not "super tall". Just a fraction of an inch higher than the older style -- which fits barely-under my CPU fan.

Actually, only one memory stick would be an issue for my CPU cooler fan. The one closest to the CPU. Again, I use the "shorter" memory in that slot.

Today's Newegg Shell-shocker is 8GB of 1600 speed DDR3 for $70 -- starts 4pm PST (I think).

These DDR3 have an even taller heat sink. But, for folks with room near the heat sink ...

FWIW as I'm not recommending them. I do not own them so don't know how good they are.
