I just installed my Warthog HOTAS. The joystick hat is setup for view instead of trim. I use a TIR for viewing so I really want it to be trim. How do you go about changing the key commands to make it trim?

Looking through the DCS A-10C control files I'm bit sure what to enter under each trim command under joystick. Could someone please post the commands or better yet a screenshot of the correct command/modifiers?

thanks

Okay, I figured it out:

Click on the trim line you want to change.
Click on default, it will ask you if want it to be the trim function - YES
That will zero out the box for that trim function under joystick.
Click on add
Move the trim button in the proper direction
Under key/button you should get the new key command
Save on go on to the next

You should get:

JOY BTN POV1 L
JOY BTN POV1 U
JOY BTN POV1 D
JOY BTN POV1 R

Just go into the options menu and find the trim command settings on the key command list. Clear each of the entries for trim up, down, left and right. Then re-assign them by clicking individually on each command and when it asks what key you want to assign to that command, click the trim hat on the stick in the proper direction. Hope that helps.

IIRC, the commands start with "Trim"... make sure to un-assign the trim hat from the views command first.

Thanks! I ended up figuring it out for myself.

For each trim command:
Click on and clear each current view command under trim.
When you clear it - it will ask if you want to use it as trim - say yes.
Click on add
And under modifers - move the joystick trim hat to correct direct and it will add the correct command.
Then save the file.
