So you're saying if you change the realism settings it will change the way the guns sound and the engines sound?
That's the way how CoD and Oleg fanbois think.
If you show them reality, they attack you - that you showed them reality and not their fantasy world,
and they got a set of labels to attach to you also.
That's not necessarily it, I'm not trying to stir anything up, but just stating the obvious. They have an entire month almost before they release it in the US.. vanilla IL2 had some pretty laughable sound, but then along came mod teams, and individual modders that made the game pretty much legendary among combat flight sims. So far, to me, CoD seems like its a graphically dumbed down WoP with a bit more realism.
But, when I go ahead and state the obvious saying the gun sounds and engine sounds are pretty terrible, and someone tells me we don't know the players realism settings? I mean, come on guys.. Certainly, when you see the video of him flying like he's on a rail when a wing rips off, he could have EasyFM on or something like that, but very very doubtful.
Considering the amount of "experts" present all at one place im suprised no one seems to be aware of the multitude if pics from RL showing, sometimes, serious damage to fighters and bombers (when seeing them most "experts" in here would cry out BS, much like now) and yet they made it home.
Large sections of wing missing on single engined ac is one such example.
Rear section of a Hurricane almost blown clean of by what was tought to be a mk108 shell, more plausible however would be AAA. Made it home.
P-38 one wing nearly severed by a tree yet managed to land is another.

I guess there stating that maybe Team Oleg made multiple sound sets? lol; that's a waste of time and money, they would not of done this. I bet with the release of modding tools for the sim it's left up to us, to input the realism for the sim. or maybe this guy was flying on a 486 16sx turbo system?

^ And let's not forget that the Hurri in the video didn't exactly lose the entire wing. More like 1/3 or 1/4. Couldn't really see it in the clip, but I'd say that it was "just" the section outboard of the 4 .303s on the port wing.

He forgot to add after quotes +1, meaning, i think the same but did not bother typing it again. Thats the way i see it at least.
My point is that audio quality can and is affected by (a) the player's audio card, (b) what in-game audio settings were being used and (c) how the audio was recorded in the video.

That was clearly the obvious statement. If one posted settings and specs with there pics and vids then the wolves can go to town.
If it was full real , one would hope not all planes go milling about in dogfights with that much wing missing tho.Maybe enough to get home but that's about all.On arcade settings it really does not matter what is missing tho does it.
yes makes since why those survived but not that Hurricane, no flight controls were left on that side hence it should of spun out and crashed spinning.

The videos that we are seeing are no a real indication on how well the game plays, COD's in built gun camera smooths out any FPS drop, so what we see in video may not be how the game runs, we have seen such instances where we have 11FPS showing on screen whilst the recording looked smooth-ish, but reports suggest that the game freezes every 2 seconds or so (on certain settings) but it doesn't show in the vids.
Nike-it has posted some videos showing decent FPS recorded with FRAPS and with the e-filter on over at 1C (link at bottom). His rig is thus: i7-860, 4Gb Ram, GTX470 and Win7 64
This first video of his exhibits the worst building (and tree) pop-up I have yet seen. It happens all over not just at a particular draw distance.

Flight Gear Freetrack 6DoF (using TrackIR 3 cam) Saitek Cyborg Evo Force (failed after 6 strong years of service) Saitek X-52 Pro Flight System with Hall Sensor Magnet Mod (flying is good again)
Maybe that pop-up happens only on low settings? Otherwise it's intolerable.
Default install settings he says. Does CoD analyse a system and pick best settings for your rig or is it just a standard default set?
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that BKHZ_Furbs had made a thread discussing these vids.

I suspect the settings would default to low out of the box, so as not to give the owner a seizure of a different kind when his first experience of the game was a Kodak moment.
