Hurray! Thanks Guod, much appreciated.
We've been waiting for this interview for a while, as you all know.

From a personal perspective I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY with their response to my question about combined arms...

Q: [...] Could a player driving a T-34 co-op with players flying an IL-2 in a combined armament battle?
A. [...] But purely from the point of view of possibilities, the game engine has always been designed with a combined battlefield in mind.

While I know that this may never happen, the possibility that it could means that the sim-nirvana [for me] of multi-player combined battlefield war could well occur in the next few years! Happy happy joy joy.

Cheers all,
C_G

I have been waiting for a good electronic battlefield sim since they suggested it might happen in Falcon 4. Come on, developers!

Sadly there wasn't an answer to the question as to what requirements would need to be met (by a person or group), to be allowed to create 3rd party material. (aircraft or maps)

Given the hullabaloo over this game, might be instructive to interview those guys in a month or so about plans to patch it to a better state of completion

Luthier's already put up a couple of fairly detailed posts about their "roadmap" for patching and items for optimization. So long as he continues to uphold 1C's well-established history of providing timely and substantial patches, I don't think we need to worry about whether this is going to be "complete" or not in the relatively near future... my own gut feeling (based on no facts whatsoever) is that they are currently burning the midnight oil trying to improve this game prior to North American release so that they don't get slaughtered by game reviewers.

I want to be a glowing cloud that is all sparkly and nearly omnipotent.

I'd make Kirk and Gorn fight.

The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events.

I just caught the Star Trek reference in the first line.
Line 1 - Obsession: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsession_(Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series)
Line 2 - Arena - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arena_(Star_Trek:_The_Original_Series)

Last edited by wheelsup_cavu; 04/14/11 06:42 AM. Reason: I realized he was making Star Trek references with both lines.
