Hi!
I played a heli sim back in 96-97 & I am trying to find it. Been looking for awhile now, closest thing to it would be Comanche 2 but thats not it.

Things I remember:

- the radar had red (bad guys) and green (good one) dots
- you take off in a helicopter, but can land and get into a buggy/jeep which was also armed w/ missiles
- alot of mountains, but later seas. Also had anti-aircraft bunkers that shot at you when you got too close.
- you picked up first aid/supplies (could see it on the radar) with a rope that came down from the helicopter
- had missiles that shot only straight, and also shoot and forget.

I played it in Germany, could Europe have different versions of games?

Anyone know of a game like this?

Thx to all!

Hello and welcome to the forums. Looking over your list of things you remember, it seems like it was not really a sim but in fact one of the 'Strike' series. Did you play the game on PC?

Nuclear Strike is from 1997:

All the Strike series:

What view did you play from? In the cockpit, external, overhead? I think all the Comanche series have been 'sims' where you play in only the Comanche and from either cockpit or external chase views.

i remember being inside the heli, then also being able to view everything from outside.

Also I would land at a station on a hill, then get into a dune buggy-like thing. In this I would have to take out bunkers.

Also, the graphics were not completely smooth like the Comanche series, at least what I have seen so far.
But, they were not as choppy/ugly as the early 90s.

I don't know if you can drive in a buggy in this as I've never played it, but could it be this game?

I'm beginning to think that the game you are looking for is in fact just a game where you can be in different vehicles and is not classed as a sim, such as something along the lines of Urban Assault or Uprising 2: Lead And Destroy.
