So I'm just about finished watches seasons 1.0 and 1.5 on Netflix. Anyone have any idea how long it usually takes before other seasons start showing up for streaming. I know SG:U is currently in season 2.5. Will 2.0 be available soon or should I expect to have to wait until next fall?

I was always under the impression that Netflix got episodes once they hit the home video market. So, probably this summer, maybe fall.

If you can't get it in the store, you won't see it on Netflix. If you do, you MIGHT see it on NF already. With several studios they now have a 30-day wait policy ie it's in the stores for a month before they get it because the studios were upset too many people were renting instead of buying. In return, they cut the rate NF pays them...yet NF's rates still went up! Imagine how high they'd be if they hadn't signed that deal...

Anyway, I dropped from 3/month to 2 because of that, besides I've watched a lot of the old stuff I wanted to anyway so I now have 1 disc dedicated to new release films (which I'm so backlogged on anyway that the 30-day delay doesn't bother me) and 1 to TV series (currently on ST:Voyager).

It depends on the show with Netflix. For example, Heroes would show up for streaming about 3 days after the episode originally aired, much like Hulu. I'm not aware of others that came up THAT fast, but it's hard to tell when a show will pop up on there.

Xbox Live Marketplace had them online in HD about 1 Hour after they Premiered. (Stargate SG1, SGA, Heroes etc).

Since thy merged and Zune Marketplace took over Im not sure its the same.

I've been slow to hop on the streaming tv show band wagon so far. So far I've only watched some episodes of BSG and Caprica via streaming (Syfy.com).

Best way to watch shows! More convenient than dvd, no commercials to skip over like DVR.

Yeah, low res pics on a tiny monitor, lame stereo sound, no extras like behind-the-scenes, deleted scenes, or commentaries, stuttering with network congestion...

I take a Bluray (or DVD if no BD is available) any day.

Streaming will never replace blurays/dvd's for me but I do take advantage of it once in a while. In the case of BSG and Caprica, I got to listen to podcasts for episodes that were not available yet on dvd.
