Ah, but streaming doesn't mean pc and little speakers, those days are long past.
We recently paid about $130 for a Sony blu-ray player with built in wi-fi.
Streams:
-Netflix
-Youtube
-Amazon, both Prime free streaming and rentals and buy it watch it now movies
-Hulu Plus
-25 other video streaming sites, most of which I've never even heard of.
-Pandora, NPR & other music sites
-Home network streaming with pc's, although I don't do that

...and on top of that it's a good blu-ray player and the best at upscaling dvd player that I've ever had. DVD's have never looked so good.

So nice to be able to go through season after season of 24 without having to buy them.
Won't be the sound or quite the video quality of blu-ray of course, even though it's HD, but it still looks great and I didn't have to buy it or even wait for Netflix to send me the discs 1 or 2 at a time. We can watch 24, Spartacus, 30 Rock, BSG...all in the same week, within seconds of clicking on it on the screen. I'm sure someone out there gets some stuttering and buffering issues, but we don't. Streaming has come a long way in a very short time.

Seeing as I can never get thru my 2 discs from NF in less than a week anyway, it's a bit like an all-you-can-eat buffet for someone on a diet. I've got it on my 3D Bluray player. In the 3 months I've had it I've managed to watch 1/2 of one film and 3/4 of one ep of SNL!
Not like NF's 2-day turnaround is some burden, either. I mail it off on Monday, get the next one on Wednesday.

Yeah, I only stream. If I want it in 1080p I buy the BD.

Just finished watching season 1 vol 2 of SG:U last night. I've never watched any of the other Stargate series before. I guess I'll just catch up on those and maybe BSG until season 2 of SG:U is available to stream from NF.

Have you ever felt confused or lost while watching SG:U since you have not see any of the previous SG shows?

I don't think I can come up with a single reason to recommend watching SG:U before the others.

That's sort of like telling someone who's never seen anything Star Trek before to start with Enterprise and Capt Archer.

I thought it was equally bizarre when I found out there were some people who were watching "Caprica" who had never watched a single episode of BSG! I'm sorry but Caprica has NO meaning without BSG and I consider myself to be a big fan of Caprica.
