Ah, but streaming doesn't mean pc and little speakers, those days are long past.
We recently paid about $130 for a Sony blu-ray player with built in wi-fi.
Streams:
-Netflix
-Youtube
-Amazon, both Prime free streaming and rentals and buy it watch it now movies
-Hulu Plus
-25 other video streaming sites, most of which I've never even heard of.
-Pandora, NPR & other music sites
-Home network streaming with pc's, although I don't do that
...and on top of that it's a good blu-ray player and the best at upscaling dvd player that I've ever had. DVD's have never looked so good.
So nice to be able to go through season after season of 24 without having to buy them.
Won't be the sound or quite the video quality of blu-ray of course, even though it's HD, but it still looks great and I didn't have to buy it or even wait for Netflix to send me the discs 1 or 2 at a time. We can watch 24, Spartacus, 30 Rock, BSG...all in the same week, within seconds of clicking on it on the screen. I'm sure someone out there gets some stuttering and buffering issues, but we don't. Streaming has come a long way in a very short time.
