I've just installed this last night... and boy am I hooked! The basic idea is simple, but the myriad of options and maps and tactics make it hard to master.

I'm looking for a group/clan to join, hopefully one that uses tactics and voice comms, as I'm fed up sniping and get my butt handed to me by a tank that comes flanking behind me. In-game name is SniperIce, if that helps any. Mainly using USA and German tanks.

Hey Ice,
Yeah WOT is digital crack! If you are playing on the North American servers check out 2ID Tactical <www.2idtactical.com>. There are a bunch of us including ex-military types who play WOT. In any case I will keep an eye out for SniperIce! smile

I am looking too. Been playing fer a bit and while lucky enough to have a bud or two who play locally I'd like to hook up with and try and do this like a platoon. Especially when WoT eventually allows larger platoons (4-5)? smile Sgt_Sheridan is mah name.

I'm on the EU server, with my usual nickname purolator. So far the best non-premium tank I got is a KV (Tier 5), which I got yesterday.

Most fun I have so far is with the T-46, using the "wasp swarm" tactic when running with other fast light tanks. It's a real hoot to spread chaos at the enemys base and to get away with that. This doesn't work so well with higher tiers unforutunately.

**For what it is worth, lacking any appreciable SimHQ clan, any one can open a "SimHQ" chat channel and wait for other like-minded, well read, handsome &/or attractive persons of said site to join in. From there, platooning could be done and much fun would be had by all.

** = I think this can be done. I've never tried this myself, as I'm a ***lone wolf, baby.

*** = Yeah, and my stats prove it too (i.e. stats not so hot and I'm sitting at that rough 50/50 win-loss rate). Platooning up would be nice to do, I think.

Yes you can make a SimHQ channel but you will need to share the password with anyone else who want to join. You can also turn on the ingame voice chat to communicate with other members of your platoon or group if doing a company battle.

You can also just add people to your friends list. That way when you are ingame they will show as green.
Sorry No you cant join or see people on the other servers. They are separate entities.

If your looking for a clan you can also check out Dads HideOut We are a group of mature casual players. We just started a clan on the EU server the other three DHO clans are on the NA sever.
Greg.

I cant devote myself to a clan, in the sense of training days etc just because life is way too busy but I wish I could. I usualy jump on when I can and play for an hour or two. I find it pretty hard to get someone to team up with and get voice going. Gunnyhiway and I team up for a few hours one morning and it was a blast. ESP teamwork is ok, but actualy cordinating with someone realy cranks the game up a notch.

The chat channel sounds like a good idea. But if I just open the channel do I have to invite people or can you just look for any open channels? Sorry, for the ignorance but Ive one used chat once.
