Hi all,

I was able to get AI aircraft to show up in FS9 Kai Tak airport using TTools to decompile the blg file. But I cannot find a way to do it in FSX? I have a Flight plan for FSX Kai Tak airport. But the AI planes do not show up because I believe I have to edit the airport information as I did with FS9. I do not know how to do this in FSX.

I would like to delete FSX VHHH airport and add the coordinance for VHHX. The reason I want to delete VHHH is eliminate the number of planes flying in the air over Hong Kong. So, how do you edit an airport in FSX? Is there a tool like TTools that can decompile FSX blg files and recompile it again after changes are made? Any help will be appreciated.

FSX flight plans include the same information as FS9 ones.

In fact, if you still have the flight plans and planes from your FS9 installation, you can copy them over and compile the plans into FSX formatting to get the traffic back.

I did that with FS9 flight plans for VHHH and converted them with TTools for use in FS9 VHHX. I also tried to use a program that was suppose to convert FS9 flight plans for use in FSX, which also ajusted the one day difference between them. But when I placed the converted flight plans in FSX, my air traffic stopped working at every airport, which meant the conversion was not a true FSX conversion.

The FSX flight plans that I found on the Internet are for FSX VHHX airport. But because I am using Fly Tampa's Kai Tak scenery I believe the airport coordinance is not the same because the flights did not show up. That also happened with my Fly Tampa Kai Tak scenery for FS9. And so I changed the airport coordinance for VHHX and the flights appeared.

Therefore, I am in need of a simple tool like TTools that will decompile and recompile a true FSX blg file to allow me to change the airport coordinance. I have the Microsoft SDK kit that came on the disk with Flight Simulator X, but I am not sure which part of it will or can decompile and recomplile a FSX flight plan.

Your response was very helpful. I downloaded the Compiler/Decompiler program, and it is very easy to use. However, when the program checked the FS9 flight plan it found an error in one leg of a flight with a wrong airport elevation. Because of the error it would not complete the process. Therefore I will need to locate the error in a very long string of numbers.

Additional comments:
I could not find the elevation error in the FS9 flight plans. So I had the program decompile the FSX VHHX blg flight plans that I had downloaded from the Internet. I deleted the VHHH airport in the airport txt file, then I added the correct coordinance for the Fly Tampa's Kai Tak airport, VHHX. Then I opened in Notepad the txt VHHX flight plans and had the edit file find and replace VHHH to VHHX. I then recompiled the three txt files back into the FSX VHHX blg file. And when I started up FSX and loaded the VHHX airport it was filled with aircraft.
The following images show the VHHX airport populated with aircraft.





Once again, thank you Heretic for directing me to the Compiler/Decompiler program. The nice thing about the program is that it works with both FS9 and FSX blg files, whereas TTools only works with FS9.
