Lol, I watched Red Dawn again yesterday and I'm reading the Homefront book.
Heehee you're at it again Mace. But then again I was at an airshow yesterday watching P-40s and F-15Es and A-10s and now I need to play some sims.

Downloaded it this morning. I am going to start it when I get home from work. My son will probably download it to his computer when he gets up since he is off work today. I hope he leaves me some of the achievements....LOL.
1st impressions... it's exactly that... thx god for Game Fly, but I'm enjoying it for what it is.

Laggy PC servers, dated graphics, criminally short singleplayer experience...I'm taking a pass on this one.
C'mon OFP: Red River.

I thought Frontlines was great...except for that 50 cal sniper hit to the head and his helmet flys off and he gets back up, lol... but the idea and gameplay was great.

I thought Dragon Rising was fine. As long as you were on foot. I can see where people who played the original might not have liked it, but then, I didn't enjoy the first one. I like that Codemasters is removing the weak PvP modes and betting it all on a good coop mode, which is where this series real strength is, so kudos to them for doing what is probably the smartest thing.
What thrills me is that people are noticing these insanely brief single-player campaigns in these games and saying something about it. These developers are hoping a multiplayer suite will be enough to make up the deficiencies...or at least make the game worth $60. Which they aren't.
I can't stand Yahtzee Croshaw, but one thing he did say that I totally agree with is that if you're going to charge us full price, there better be a full game.
I'll wait for Homefront to hit the bargain bin before I get it, maybe not even then.

Gotta admit, I was really hoping Homefront would be a great game, but it disappoints. Singleplayer, fun but too short even on Guerilla mode. Multiplayer is a joke. Full of cheaters/hackers one shot aimbotter snipers, spawn rapes, and overall unbalanced. Wish I bought this as a boxed version. Would sell it on eBay to recoup any costs.....

Same here. The story looked amazing and the gameplay didn't look too bad (from what little I saw before release); but unfortunately it seems to have missed the mark. I think I was expecting a more "RPG" feel with factions, upgradeable weapons, squad mates, etc. I felt the same way about Metro 2033...It had a good story and the gameplay looked intense; but at the same time it was so linear and short that it flopped. They just felt like interactive movies.
Makes you wonder that if done right, these could be made into some bad-ass movies in the future
