Oh my... Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the work everyone is doing here...

Still, I have to confess I would feel a little bit uneasy if I have found out that my homeland has been so realistically captured into a war simulator. Even more so, if the future for the area is not certain...

tongue-in-cheek>

I feel uneasy about the Grand Canyon map...

tongue-in-cheek>

If the maps being of certain "actual" places cause concern, why not make up some fictitious maps with fictitious names per not offending anyone.

I'm the last person to step forward and be PC (pertaining to wargames), but hey, I understand Jabberwocks reasons.

I can´t really follow you - you are playing this game - in different terrains which all could be war zones , especially at the time being. For me, this is just a game and I don´t have any real war - feelings by playing. If you have any problems with this, just don´t play it. If somebody feels uneasy with such kind of game he should also don´t play war gams like IL2 (in this war died 50 Million people) or Operation Flashpoint (in Jugoslavia also a lot of people lost their life).

My target was only to enlarge the possibilities of the game by making more terrains available. But if more of you have any problems with this, please let me know and I will stop my projects.

I have no problem with your projects, and it would be a loss to the community if you stopped. If any offence was taken it was not intended. I was playing Devils Advocate, making a suggestion. Nothing more. Forgive me if my post came across wrong.

Like I said, I'm the last person that would step forward and be PC about a wargame, but alas I did (with much tongue-in-cheek). I am not offended by using real world areas, I say the more the better. I also point out that Alaska and Grand Canyon are close to home for me, and I don't have a problem with that.

No problem at all. Please do keep up the excellent work.

By the way, if a map of the British Isles should ever materialize, i wouldn't have a problem with that either. ;\)

There is a fantastic natural amphitheatre at the end of a valley near me, and I have fantasised for years about flying my EECH Apache up it, taking out some bad guys! Don't stop Mav!!!

I put London on there because it was easier, I actually live on the edge of the South Downs...just have to work in the smoke.

If you do a Google on "Steyning Bowl" you may be able to get an idea. There was one pic called "Down the hill around Steyning Bowl" that would give you an idea of what I meant.
