This isn't a big problem ,I've asked twice in the SimOuthouse forums with no reply,so I thought for my first post here I'd give it a shot.
On planes that have working guns, and require you to change the line in the effects file from FS9_Wing_Guns,fx to FX_Wing_Guns.fx and put the 20 mm cannon wave file in the sound folder and use the O key to fire the guns ,I can see the guns fireing but there is never any sound.
On the ones that have you use the brake button or I key I get the machine gun sounds.
Could it be you have to delete the gun sound file for Flight sim X which is always included?

You need DSDSoundXML, a panel gauge, and associated .ini files to play custom sounds in FS9 and FSX.

Maybe you're missing that gauge when transferring effects and sound to new aircraft.

Or something like that.

Do you know where I can get the guage and files and how to install them? Whats weird is other planes that have gun sounds but are not assigned the O key ,but assign it to the brakes for instance like the Phalz D III work just fine, you can hear the guns. Thankyou so much for taking the time to help

Check the panel.cfg of the planes WITH sound for "DSDsoundxml". If it shows up there, you definately missing it.

Transfer the gauge (I think it's a .gau file and an .ini, but I'm not sure) and gauge entry from the panel.cfg from the plane WITH sound to the plane and panel.cfg (repectively) of the plane WITHOUT sound.
You can derive the correct location for both the gauge files and the .cfg entry from the location and .cfg of the working plane.

I don't have the planes in question, so I can't check them personally.
