Definitely! Also came out as a three episode OVA series around 1985 and later a 12 episode TV series in 2005. I haven't watched much of the TV series but initially picked up the OVAs on laserdisc and then later on DVD when I actually could get it translated.

I remember playing the game in the arcades but I don't think I picked it up for any system.

Zero interest for me. Just doesn't make sense to me. I know that want to get up close and personal but it just doesn't make sense with modern aircraft. I'm sure it'll be pretty though.

I'll definately be getting it. It looks like it aughta be fun. But I will definately echo the sentient that I really REALLY hope there's no super cheesy anime inspired story. :C
