Is this addon worth the extra cash? Is this the same as Traffic X from Just Flight? If not, which one is best do you think?

Thanks

World Of AI. The price is just unbeatable.

Yeah - I heard about that after I posted this.

Is it any good? (regardless of price)

That seems like an incredible amount of work to do...there are a MASSIVE amount of "packages" to download and install.

I think I'll opt for the £25 and Ultimate Traffic X

WOAI's only drawbacks are the occasional few minutes needed for maintenance once updated packages are released and that the AI models are a bit hard on FPS in FSX.

What about the hundred plus files I would have had to download?

I appreciate they're free, but there was just no way I was going to download all those files. I'd rather pay the money and be up and running in a few minutes than spending an hour or more downloading when I could be playing.

Seriously - thanks for the link - but I'm more a pay and work than mess around kind of guy.

I could be worse...you could have to install them by hand, i.e. add repaints to AI aircraft and manually compile the flightplans.

lol - it could be. I am a pretty lazy gamer. I like things to be nice and packaged and work straight off installtaion. If they don't, I go away and do something else.

I remember the Falcon Dance. Maybe it was that that made me like installation packages!

As for TrafficX..? Well, I haven't noticed a great amount of "moving" air traffic around the airports...as in landing, taking off, taxiing etc. There are quite a few stationary aircraft and jet noises etc...but I haven't noticed any movement on the ground. The models are nice enough. Not hi def - but good enough to make me feel like I'm at an airport that's used by other aircraft.

I have to admit though that I haven't messed with any settings. This is straight out the box. Also, I haven't been to any major airports at present. So these things will surely have an impact.

The airport lights seemed to have taken on a new dimension and look fantastic in the night...but I don't know if that's through TrafficX or REX2...I really don't. Though prior to getting TrafficX, I had bought REX2 a few days before and I can't recall thinking what I think now with the lights...which is WOW.

There are alot of settings actually in the TrafficX program, but I haven't touched them. There is also an aircraft livery painter and schedule maintainer.

I'm not disappointed at all with my product.

I did that one, too.

But you did it once successfully, you can do it every time. Live and learn.

As for the "install and go" stuff, don't get me started. Autoinstallers and "all in one" carefree packages are close to software cancer. Surely nice for absolute beginners, but at one point one should get past them and figure stuff out on your own (or at least read "Readme"s). (No offense and not aimed at you.)

That's not the only drawback. WOAI is not DX10 compatible, so it doesn't work with DX10 Preview checked, and it should be checked because 1. The graphics are better and 2. Your framerates will double, which means you can push those sliders further to the right.

If you can live without VSync, with shimmering runways and FSX's built-in 2x anti-aliasing, why not.

I prefer DX 9 with 8x AA and vsync.

DX10 Preview mode seems to be just that anyway...preview mode. I know the Taxi Progress lines don't show using it...and I need those to know where I'm going

A big seconded, DX9 FTW smile
The reason I would give for not using WOAI is not that its not DX10 compatible but that it will drag down your framerates because there old FS9 models (which incidentally is why there not DX10 compatible)

Well, I've sacrificed most moving boats and moving freeway traffic for AI and it works out very well. Can't live without those busy airports.
