I don't know if anyone here used to play this but the original Planetside contains all my favourite online gaming experiences. It was a land based, future MMOFPS game. At it's height it ran massive online battles between hundreds (really) of people. I remember with awe hundreds of people attacking bridges and towers.

Imagine Battlefield on a massive scale. Instead of 32 or 64 players imagine 500 players all flying aircraft, manning turrets and driving ground vehicles.

Yes, Sony made bad decisions that (for me) changed the game for the worse and eventually made me give it up however at it's height it was a gaming experience i will never forget.

This guy gives a good account of how it felt. I just hope PS2 can live up to what i remember of PS1 and I don't just remember the rosy moments and not the bad.

I can't remember being this excited by a sequel to anything..

Planetside rocked. I had a lot of fun in it too. I'm looking forward to the sequel, I hope it does the original justice!

I hope the graphics got a lot better in Planetside 2. That's primarily why I could never get into WWIIONINE because of the 1992 looking graphics.

Supposedly PS2 will launch this month, as stated numerous times by Sony's CEO. But only a handful of screenshots have been released, no video, and he's said current PS players will get invites to beta test PS2. But has anyone actually received an invite yet? March is here, there is no PS2 website, lights are on, but is anyone home? reading

Yeah.. i have to admit that the marketing seems to be a little... underwhelming. However i'm willing to give it a chance.. They have already said no Max's so that suites me.. However the graphics, whilst better than the original looking than the original PS will never be as nice as COD or BF because of the large scale of the game..

WWII Online has actually gotten MUCH better sice release. It's not a bad looking game at all, erspecially with the inclusion of HDR, weather, etc..
