E-PL1 with Soligor 75-250mm and Fotodiox Adapter at f8, 1/200 sec, ISO200, 100% Crop.

This is nowhere near as nice as the telescope composite of the moon that was posted here a few years back, but I managed to shoot this hand held a couple of weeks ago and thought it turned out pretty well.

Yeah, not bad for hand-held.

BTW, if this had been posted by Haggart, there's no way I would have clicked on it with a subject line like that.

LOL Ken, I tried one of those when I came back from my Norad launch. Full Moon was just over the horizon and it was pink and huge. But the Sigma sucks in low light and without a tripod I didn't bother making a second attempt.

full moon is sunny16 rule of thumb, so plenty of light for your Bigma smile

Very nice, especially considering it is a hand held shot.. thumbsup

Have you tried running through a gentle sharpening filter in Photoshop (or similar program)?

Major Magee, I hope you don't mind but I took the liberty of running your image through some of the photoshop routines I use for astro-imaging...

Wow. I thought it was cool to begin with, but that's a whole different ballgame.

E-PL1 with Soligor 75-250mm, Soligor 2x Macro Teleconverter, and Fotodiox Adapter at f8, 1/20 sec, ISO200, 100% Crop.

Just trying out the used 2X Tele Converter I picked up. Because it reduces the light gathering ability by two full stops, increases the 35mm equivalent focal length to 1000mm, and makes the whole lens assembly physically longer (9.75" total), I had to resort to a tripod this time.

There's an eerie mist over the moon tonight.
