I just installed SP1 on a Laptop, which solved some issues. None to report though.
however Win7 is more Versatile that people think.
I installed Win7 Home Premium on a HP dv1000 Laptop for a friend over the weekend.
Single Core Pentium M 1.80Ghz, and 512 MB of Ram, with intel 8xxx Series Accelerator.
1st part fo the ram was given to the Intel Graphics chip. so Usuable ram was like 504MB.
Setup took around 40 minutes (Ran ISO from a Thumbdrive to bypass CD seek / transfer rates) (USB 2.0 Flash is way faster).
Sound Chip installed fine (though HPO said it wouldnt).
Had to force XP drivers for Flash Card reader, 56K Modem.
Finding A Driver for the Intel 8xxx Series GMA was the big pain, took 3 hours of digging to find an XP package that would install and even then I had to turnoff things in the start up to get it to install.
Once the drivers were installed, I had to do windows update w/ 69+ Important Updates and about 10 optional (which were all system drivers).
After that I did the SP1 update.
everything runs fine.
on that OLD Laptop.
