Slow news day? Better too much stuff than too little, I guess. I am not interested but perhaps other readers are.

Meh. I prefer simulations to be a simulation of reality, or at least earthbound stuff with way less aliens biggrin

When I see Bulletstorm news on SimHQ (and not in the Console section), I just get a little offended.

If I would've seen news there about World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, I would've gone ballistic! wink

I'm with Magnum though, it's great to see Lee again! It's been a while!

as I've said a million times... if we only covered true sims or even true tactical shooters... this site would DIE!

Aviation & Air Combat is alive and well.

Motorsports is alive and well.

Armor Combat (?) is alive and well.

Land Combat is dead as far as I'm concerned (under the current regime).

I'm just doing a little rioting biggrin

just curious then.. what other true sim is out their besides A10 and Blackshark for Avation... sure i know theres alot of older games... but how many people do older games really bring to SimHQ... what new content could be posted about older games.

OK, I give you motoraports is alive and well.

Armor combat... one game...SB Pro PE... and maybe the defunct Steel Fury... what else?

land combat is dead... lol... yet you play almost more then anyone here... your a diehard BFBC2 player... and play ArmA2 alot... besides motorsports, land combat games is probably the biggest attraction here right now.

Your just thinking with your closed mind as usual.

hahaha

I like how Dumping is such a notable feature that it is included in the trailer. Needs more tractor deathmatch IMO.

LOL! (that Farm Simulator looks awesome heh heh)

My alive/dead status post above referred to the status of SimHQ and not of the genres themselves.

Land Combat is far from dead and as I’ve said, I’ve gotten used to “simulations” like Bad Company 2.

I’ve just been getting the feeling lately that real Land Combat news hasn’t been making the front page (ignored) but weird console stuff like Bulletstorm has.

The focus and interest just doesn’t seem to be there anymore.

BTW. Sorry for hijacking your thread Beltfed. I feel like a dirty stinking Somali pirate now smile

I'd only posted this here cuz R Lee is a hoot. Other than that the game is a non issue . BTW I think there is a PC version out there and it has gotten OK reviews aside from the prevalence of toilet humor.... Admittedly I have always like a little tasteful toilet humor... smile (Contradiction in terms?)

Vis a vis the simulation issue. I really more enjoy playing the game with people. I like some reality contextually within a game (ie it's gotta make sense within it's own reality) But sometimes I just like playing with other peeps regardless. So in a perfect world I'd like to play a more simulated situation than fantastical, in the current gaming state I'll take whatI can get smile As long as it's fun, fair and with good people like here.

New patches/content are still being made for IL2, and last I checked, that game aint exactly new. wink

Rise of Flight? Less than 2 years old.

CoD? About a month away from release.

There's plenty of fresh content for flight sim types to discuss.

so besides the ArmA2 series... what other true "tactical shooters" are there...recently... almost all shooters coming are of the Battlefield type or the Bulletstorm type... if theres no real shooter news should we just let the site die?

You always mention/post your opinion about this stuff DD... but never answer the question... "What should we be covering then...specifics?"

Aw crap, now you've made me have to type a bunch of words ...

As I’ve said before, I’ve gotten used to the new Medal of Battlefield Duty type of “simulations” that are coming out. I would even rate Bad Company 2 as one of, if not the best multiplayer fps’s ever made.

To be specific, in my opinion, here is the kind of stuff that should be covered in the Land Combat section of SimHQ ... games that at least have a foothold in reality ...

Armed Assault 2 + expansions & mods
Battlefield: BC2/Vietnam
Battlefield 3 (looking good!)
Breach (has a lot of promise but didn’t pan out)
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Homefront
Medal of Honor
Operation Flashpoint (Red River is looking pretty good)
Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad/In Country/Rising Storm (This stuff is MAJOR. I can’t wait.)

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a close minded elitist PC gamer so I’d only like to see PC games in the Land Combat section.

And while we’re on the subject of what I think SimHQ Land Combat should be covering, I’d like to see an events calendar like the one the Sim Racing guys have. I think they do a great job of taking polls to see where the interest is in terms of what events to have. Maybe even rehash some of the classics that still work well on current systems ...

America’s Army 3
Frontlines: Fuel of War
Ghost Recon/Desert Siege/Island Thunder/Jungle Storm
Red Orchestra: Ostfront
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield/Athena Sword/Iron Wrath
Rainbow Six: Lockdown (ha ha, just kidding)
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
SWAT 4/Stetchkov Syndicate

I know Mag, as you mentioned a couple days ago there was a SimHQ event going on every Sunday for three years ending Dec 2010 but stopped due to lack of interest. Maybe the problem was lack of communication because I (and probably a lot of others) had no clue this was going on. Then again, I’m generally clueless so that might also be a factor smile

actually that was my mistake, it ended 2009... but we had screens and AAR's every week and few cared... hell we had a SimHQ America's Army server for 6 months and only 3 showed up.

All those games you mentioned are covered, except Breach which IMO sucked, so left it.

So we are covering what you want and more.

added:

Armed Assault 2 + expansions & mods REVIEWED
Battlefield: BC2/Vietnam REVIEWED
Battlefield 3 (looking good!)
Breach (has a lot of promise but didn’t pan out) SUCKED IMO
Call of Duty: Black Ops REVIEWED
Homefront
Medal of Honor REVIEWED
Operation Flashpoint (Red River is looking pretty good) 1ST REVIEWED, WILL REVIEW 2ND
Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad/In Country/Rising Storm (This stuff is MAJOR. I can’t wait.) DON'T CARE FOR

America’s Army 3 REVIEWED AND A SimHQ SERVER
Frontlines: Fuel of War REVIEWED
Ghost Recon/Desert Siege/Island Thunder/Jungle Storm REVIEWED
Red Orchestra: Ostfront DIDN'T LIKE
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield/Athena Sword/Iron Wrath REVIEWED
Rainbow Six: Lockdown (ha ha, just kidding) REVIEWED
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 REVIEWED
SWAT 4/Stetchkov Syndicate REVIEWED AND A TACTICAL ARTICLE

So not seeing how "the current regime" is not covering tactical shooters like you claim... and as for your calander, click the link up top that says CALANDER, I've asked for our own to no prevail, so I use the web site one.

and finally, once again DD... if SimHQ is just so bad for you, you can leave I won't miss you. lol wink
