I think Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 is better looking and the more true-er flight sim.
jk of course.

That cockpit frame sure is obstructing to the view. Is it that thick in the real A10?

I bet alot of those cockpits have that feel outside of a bubble canopy F-16 or something. I sat in that F-4 front section and its almost like you are wrapped in panels and gizmos and the hud feels like its in your face.

Is that a nod to the next in the DCS series? If I would bet money, I would say yes. They already have a bit of a base to work with for the F-15 from LOMAC/FC2, and they created a fine model for A-10C. Seems natural the F-15E would be next.

Highly unlikely that it will be the F15E, unless they somehow make the sim so that the player can be the pilot and the WSO at the same time.

Hi all, I believe a rivet is missing on the A-10 in the third picture As far as the next fixed wing aircraft, I would put my money on the F/A-18. You have a Carrier and land base jet and it can handle any mission. I do like the F-15C however. Out of here, Wired

Go to DCS website, log into your account. click on "Downloads" and you will see a link for download english ver or something like that. You can download seperate set-up files through FTP or HTTP or the a legal torrent, which seems to be the fastest right now.

To guess the next release of DCS is to look at the military; I thought a beefed up version of A10 is offered to the airforce, so my guess is they will look for a product they could sell to the military as well as the civilian market. F18 seems more relevant than then the mudhen?

Sweet screenshots. Still 4 hours to go on my torrent download, which means I'll play it later this evening.

Um, I see a sort of chopped off hub in the front, but no prop.
What kind of joke fantasy plane is this? Big circular radiators on the sides towards the rear indicate it has huge cooling problems, too.

Is it my eyes, or they finally got rid of the overdone bloom effect and colors seems also to much more natural in these screenshots than the majenta/blue of the beta.. Is it from the new graphic engine?

I'd totally play DCS Cub. That said, does DCS even know what the next sim is? Don't they build of work they are doing for military contracts, meaning Sim market forces/wishes have nothing to do with it? That said, if they do go F/A 18, I'd be a happy man. The issue there is carrier ops, which the engine might not support too well, given it's limitation in LOMAC. As far as the F-15 goes, I'm all game if they go with the E model. The pure A to A versions would get boring. Switchin back to the Hawg', I'm seeding the torrent, and I've gone from 500 peers (think that's my limit) down to 241. There are now more seeds than peers. Has anyone who's played it yet comment on optimization compared to early beta?

That said, does DCS even know what the next sim is? Yep, they do. "USA fixed-wing aircraft". http://games.on.net/article/11576/Developer_Interview_DCS_A10Cs_Jim_MackonochieA-10C is just out and barely has the paint dry so we have plenty of time before the next one.

So far, Eagle Dynamics has deliberately stayed away from any aircraft with air-to-ground radar. Has there been any talk to the contrary recently? Because if not, it might narrow down the guessing options for the next DCS title.

Highly unlikely that it will be the F15E, unless they somehow make the sim so that the player can be the pilot and the WSO at the same time. Spoken like someone who's unaware of Janes F15.

Presumably it will be the same era as the A-10C and Black Shark, to facilitate inter-operation, which must limit the options somewhat. Do they mean US-built or US-operated? There were Phantoms and F-5's being operated in the area... Would REALLY like a low-tech dogfighter for a change...but thats probably not going to happen. Maybe a F-15A / F-16A or F-18A (how hard can carrier ops be....) On balance, I think F-18A's off a small USN Task Force. Cheers, Keith

I also a agree that a low tech jet would be cool, but Jet thunder should scratch that itch.

What we really need in a thread called "DCS: A-10C Warthog - images from the release version" in the "Screenshot and Video Gallery" are more images from the release version. I'm in the midst of a move and I still downloaded the install files, so someone out there must have it installed and can post a few screenshots from it by now.

Um, I see a sort of chopped off hub in the front, but no prop.
What kind of joke fantasy plane is this? Big circular radiators on the sides towards the rear indicate it has huge cooling problems, too. Those are the warp nacelles. Didn't you watch Star Trek?

Much as I love Tornado and Janes F-15, I think people should be realistic about the implications of simulating multi-crew aircraft with absolute fidelity, especially in a combat simulation. The workload saturation is precisely why there is more than one crewmember, and a I think a fully-featured simulation of the F-15E would literally be too much work for one person to be enjoyable. Same goes for the AH-64. The simulation genre is now a long way from Janes - think of the switchology, it'll be unbelievable. I'm certain this was one of the drivers for the KA-50; the one-person operation philosophy behind that aircraft's design made it a pretty much perfect case study for a desktop training aid.

My thoughts 100%. I just would be unlikely to purchase a DCS two-seater...too much to do for just lil ol' me. That said, I wouldn't mind see them perhaps putting the Eagle C and E into one package with a robust multi-crew component. My personal preference would be a Hornet with carrier Ops, but I sure wouldn't be opposed to either the Eagle or Viper in this engine.

Geez guys. You just get a new toy and you're already asking about the next one already. With flight sims rarely coming out anymore, we have to make sure SOMETHING is on the burner... Also, I'd love to see a F-18 Carrier ops based sim..

Great shots, it surely looks like another winner... too bad I can afford neither the game nor the rig required to play it. Not to mention the fact that I won't have enough time to invest learning to play it in the first place...

Possible advances in AI could give you a decent back-seater. Plus the co-op would be sweet. Still, loosing a mission b/c your WO messes up would be...frustrating. I'll just say it now, I'll probably wind up buying whatever the next one is either way though.
