Has anyone succeeded in installing this addon under Vista 64?
It installed and worked ok in my old XP system alongside my other CFS3 addons (Firepower, Memphis Belle and Mosquito Combat) but under Vista it somehow messes up my CFS3 install, every time. Have tried setting compatibility to XP SP2 and running as admin. Installs but CFS3 loads up with a blank animated UI with a "mission not found" error and then locks up, or CTDs when loading. Think it may be something to do with Vista putting the CFS3 "application data" files (the ones that go outside the Program Files folder) in a different place - doesn't affect CFS3 or other addons but messes up D-Day.
This is because if I install D-Day to a folder of its own, outside the CFS3 folder, it installs what looks like the full set of D-Day files successfully in that folder (from where I was hoping to try copying them across) but I still get the problem. Something other than the addon's core files seem to be the culprit, and those extra files that CFS3 loads outside the root CFS3 folder, soom to be the culprit. Have tried fiddling about with these files but no joy yet, and am tiring of having to uninstall and reinstall everything.
D-Day just has a setup programme, there are no files I can see on the CD that I could just copy into my CFS3 install in the same way you would install individual planes, skins or campaigns. Can't find any advice online, gmx are gone and combat planes don't have a forum and just have a passing mention of the product..
I'm slowly downloading the ETO expansion files (lost after a recent crash)but also would like to be able to play D-Day. With WM's scenery, good effects, the NEK built in, several great planes, skins and campaigns, it seemed to be an ideal addon for someone like me who mainly wants to play RAF ETO campaigns, the single addon that made CFS3 what it was originally intended to be. Firepower I like too but CFS3 is just not a great host for heavy bombers.
