If i go to the workshop and click on the CFS3 at the bottom right , when i go to the game I can get a drop down Hanger that has realism setting. if I click on this it goesto a menue on the left hand side of the page and there are 4 seiings for realism. at the top is easy.
I f I do not select the cfs3 in the workshop there are a number of settings to select realism and easy flight model and others for the ai.
Which of these applies? and also see my attachment which apply to the AI and which to me?

If you get the HitR expansion you can make the game even easier...

I would really like to buy HitR expansion,, (Just to support the developer if nothin else) but I am afraid it will slow down my game even more. Povloski said it might make be too much for my system.

How do you make it easier??

I got hitIR and installed and patch. It does not seem to run much different.

I do not see any difference in the difficulty settings from original workshop.

IMO you made a great decision in buying HiTR!

The option that makes the "game even easier" (I think that's this option that Wodin is refering to) is the one where you have 3 option:
- One says "aggressive AI" (or something like that)
- The other says "Less agressive AI" (or something like that)
- And the third one is a combination of both (or something like that)

Note that this set of options is only available in HiTR. IMO, you should select "Less agressive AI" option since this trends to make the missions more survivable to the player (and therefore "easier"). Personally I play with this "Less agressive AI" option set not because it's "easier" but because IMO is "more realistic" since the AIs trend to fly in a manner that's more survivable to them. With this option the AIs trend to avoid "suicidish" manouvers at low altitudes and when the AIs are flying low they trend to gain altitude as soon as possible and when in disadvantage situations the AI with the "Less agreassive AI" trend to disengage and flee if possible and these situations rarelly happen (or happen much less frequently) with the "Agressive AI" - Therefore and IMO, I think that the "Less agressive AI" is more realistic than the "Agreassive AI" with the side effect that makes the sim actually easier but beware that while the sim becomes "easier" (more survivable is the correct sentence) with the "Less agressive AI" it makes the shooting down of the enemy aircraft actually harder (at least IMO) since like I previously said, the enemy AIs trend to avoid situations that can put them in "harms way" (but don't worry, the "less agressive AIs" will still hunt you and your wingmen).
The downsize of the "Less agressive AI" is that the AIs make less agressive combat manouvers thus making dogfights less exciting (but still exciting enough, at least IMO).

ricnunes. Thanks for the informative answer. I wil l ceertianally be trying the less aggressive AI.I did not see it at all. I need all the help i can get. Still tring to stop the occasional stutter but i am afraid that is just the capeabilities of my system. I just can not get too many aircraft in the sky at once.

the other ting i am looking for is how you get the BOX aroung the targeted AI. So far All I get is the name of the opponent above the aircraft. EDIT I found it .. Thanks

Pawgy,

regarding the stutter issues, did you check the following page (located at the official OFF webpage)?

http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm

I also had some problems regarding stutters in OFF (I have an ATI 4850 video card) and that page tips solved all my stutter problems. Note that in case you have a Nvidia video card than you should read the NVIDIA GRAPHICS section of that page.

I hope this helps...

reguarding the stutters, I found some help. Setting the ground object density in workshop to low helped a lot.

Also the Easy AI seting in the workshop really made the game more playable for me.

What Regional Air Activity and Player Flight Altitude (in the Workshops) would render more realistic air traffic in 8/1918 out of Toul?

Thanks,
Dirk.

Hard to say, I don't know enough about the number squads and region to speculate. Shredward would be more qualified to comment but best just to leave it on default, unless you are having problems seeing enemies smile as the OFF manager automatically boosts activity as the years and months go on, and around major battles etc. Try it see what you think. The squads and aircraft available nearby provide the missions so it would also depend on who is active, and even though we have 100s of squads available to fly from, not all are in the sim yet.

I've found so far Air Activity @Medium is more balanced and Flight Altitude up to 18000 more reasonable to cross noman's land at higher altitudes. CareerB is a far cry yet

Cheers,
Dirk.
