There is a really nice bit on Flight and has an exclusive pic of the Cockpit of the Maul. It is begigng to look like a very nice sim of course we nee to see the how the new flight models handel ect but I just have to say WOW they got the effects spot on if of course thay are real in game screen shots.

Good mag this month. I agree the screenies do look very impressive. No word yet on whether you will be able to port any FSX planes/scenery over but as it's a 'ground up' new program I guess not. Sounds as if they are going to make it less intimidating to newcomers by having an 'easy' mode but it can also be a proper sim for the more experienced user which is fair enough.

Back to the mag....The 737 range from iFly looks interesting with it's fully detailed autopilot and FMC. Nice to see a Comet coming soon from Just Flight

The free Just Flight Cessna 152 that comes on the cover disk looks good too. Will also try out the 'crew sounds' program on the disk. smile

Does anyone who bought this mag this month know where the Cessna 152 is on the CD? Can't find it anywhere!

It is on the CD - well hidden !

It's a great plane for free. Much nicer sound, panel and flight model than the default 152. Will be flying it a lot. smile

edit -sorry Mark just saw your post. I had to ask the mag editor in the end!! Funny place to put it but he said it's because of the authors other files or something.

...... I have just found this also appears to be a free download now on the JustFlight website.

http://www.justflight.com/microsoftc152.asp

The panel is pretty good compared to the real thing (below) although no two seem to be the same!.

It is a great issue with the exception of the stupid mind-fart I had in the Flaming Cliffs 2 "Tips and Tricks" article:

I can't believe I wrote that. oops

I think I was subliminally rooting for the next DCS module aircraft or something.. biggrin

It could have been worse I suppose. I could have said: "Here the A-10E Hornet is launching a Vikhr missile at a suspected endangered blue whale."

There's always next issue.. sicko

So that plane that looks like an A10 is actually an Apache helicopter?

I think it's time to say goodnight.......

I bet there's much better stuff than glue to sniff on Beaches plane.

BeachAV8R, as a (semi)professional writer you should know by now that things like these are ALWAYS the fault of the final editor (who, in turn, will blame the layouter or the printer).

...and I say that as a former final editor wink

No. Seriously it's my mistake and I hate it. As a writer for SimHQ I try to be a perfectionist. As a writer for PC Pilot I try to be extra-perfectionist since there is no online editing or a quick note to the site manager (Doug) to correct an error. An error in print is mortifying.

Just incentive to try to do better next time.
