Scramble missions are not for the player. They are for AI Planes parked and triggered during the mission when you follow waypoints. You meet the scrambled aircraft, you are not one of them. Exactly like how you requested in your post

Also Squadrons are placed at their historical bases (or as close as can be) and move over time as they would have in the war. We just don't see it becuase there are no base relocation missions.

Hmmm, I've got "scrambles" checked, and I've never seen an enemy flight take off after me. I flew around (near my waypoints) and even buzzed an enemy aerodrome with no response.

Scrambles are limited. I think that 7.1 will allow you to increase the number of scramble missions but you will have to dig into your config file (search for scramble). Scrambles are proximity trigger based and not actual flights with waypoints. Not sure what their performance impact is.

Flights are staggered - i.e. other flights do not take off at the same time that you do. Some have progressed along their waypoints for some time as you take off. There is nothing that stops them from being right overhead as you take off, but odds are admittedly slim.

Creating a player scramble mission is definitely a possibility. it is a very realistic scenario. Lufberry was killed in one and MvR and Boelcke both report jumping into a plane and taking off after enemy AC overhead.

Thanks for replies fellows! I never knew triggers were also included in your campaign --that is terrific!-- there is SO much more to your work than many of us know.

I couldn't agree more, these are very exciting missions to try to drag your fat out of the fire, and put the NME in it!

I'm enjoying every mission generated by your campaign, and appreciate that you listen to our sometimes off-the-wall questions and requests. Many cheers Pat.

lol - yes, I have, but there are good reasons not to. I do not want people to feel any obligation in downloading it. I am doing it for fun. Fortunately I am gainfully employed and can do this for grins and giggles.

7.2 has been uploaded. It mostly gets some nasty, mind numbing work out of the way. Configs have all been moved to GUI editable and have been (hopefully) reorganizedin a reasonable way. Now I can move on to more fun stuff like integrating 2 seat and bomber campaigns into RoFCampaign.

V7.2
New Features:
- Reorganized configuration
- Made all configuration parameters edited via the GUI
- Separated configuration items into (hopefully) logical subsets
- Planes Owned is now the first item under configuration
Bug Fixes:
- Changed size of planes owned to avoid eye test syndrome
- Blended most buttons seamlessly into GUI
- Corrected Top Ace display

Superb work Patrick.

Would you remind us how to install this and keep any ongoing campaigns alive please? I usually just start from scratch but I am part way through a thoroughly enjoyable DH2 campaign and I would like to carry on with it if possible.

Regards,

WB.

EDIT= Disregard, found it in the readme.

Just unzip to your root RoF directory. Ongoing campaigns should not be affected.

Would you mind sharing how some of the missions go? What squadron, date, etc. I ask because the plane set is so limited early on, especially with recce types, that it would seem frustrating to me to try one.
Thanks

@ PW

Looks like I am still having issues with information overload in V7.2 - the Intelligence Page for my new campaign with Esc 124/Lafayette Stationed at Bar le Duc (Behonne) starting 01/03/1917 has the tab Friendly Squadrons descriptions running off the bottom of my fully maximized window. Apparently with 24 friendly squadrons showing, any more squadrons over that amount spill off screen. My monitor is set for 1920x1080 pixels resolution. I have tryed adjusting the Mission Description font size in Configuration Parameters: GUI with no improvement - I am still getting squadron information spilling off the bottom of the page.

Would a vertical scroll bar help with the format of the page?
