I totally agree with the heavy mech feelings. And too be honest, I have been enjoying (for the first time) mechwarrior 4 which is free.

Back to mw5 saga, what I find confusing is the cease and desist. As it relates to artwork of an intellectual property, then surely all pictures and videos should be removed from piraha's website. However, they are still there in plain view and that has me boggled.

The rights to Mechwarrior, Crimson Skies and Shadowrun were all bought by Smith & Tinker, a company built by the head guy from FASA before whatever happened there. Piranha is making the MW game for them, just as they're farming out the work to develop their other games, but MW comes first.
I wouldn't worry that anything is getting slowed down.

I remember having Earth Seige 2, but I don't remember anything about it other than the cover.

Technical nitpick. MechWarrior/BattleTech, Crimson Skies and Shadowrun are all licensed by Smith & Tinker. Microsoft still owns the electronic entertainment publishing rights to them.

And the guy who runs Smith & Tinker, Jordan Weisman, was the founder of FASA, he then formed WizKids LLC (makers of Mage Knight and Heroclix), before going on to becoming VP of Gaming at Microsoft. He then formed Smith & Tinker smile

And the dispute over the 'Mech images is something that goes back 20 years.
