This information could be of interest to Rising Sun enthusiasts. Some interesting information and exchanges on the P-40.

The P-40B was. . .
40 mph faster than the AM6-2 (21) Zero.
50 mph faster than the Hyabusa, or Ki-43.
70 mph faster than the fixed gear I-96.
195 mph faster than the cruise speed of the Ki-21 Sally.
130 mph faster in a dive than any Japanese fighter.
3 times the roll rate of the Zero.
P-40 was 5 mph faster than the Me 109 E-3 at 15,000 feet
P-40 was 9 mph faster than the Spitefire Mk.IA at 15,000 feet
The P-40 could out turn the Me. 109 E-3, and could out dive it.
The P-40 was not the dog that everyone seem to think it was.

In Mauritius, we are once again taught how to live life: to take one's time, to socialize and mix up with different people, to taste unknown flavours, to admire nature and to appreciate the first light of dawn...

A quote from a Capt. John Allison, demonstratimng the P-40 for the R.A.F. England, 1941:
"He had a Hurricane. Fortunatly it was one of the eight gunned Hurricanes, which were about equal with the P-40. I not only held my own against this British ace (I think he had 21 victories) I was able to get on his tail and he was quite surprised. But I was fighting where he was at a disadvantage at 3000 feet. We fought at this altitude so the group below could see. The P-40 was a low altitude airplane. The Hurricane was a high altitude airplane to get the German bombers, so it did not perform well at low altitudes. At a higher altitude I'm sure he would have taken me easily. He landed and came up to me and said, "I Thought all you Yanks were just mouth," Then he added, "You did very well."
I Think that the P-40 suffered by being one of the first American fighters to meet the Japanese, at a time when the correct way to fight them was not widely known. Chennault knew....and the Tigers did well in it!

"From our orbital vantage point, we observe an earth without borders, full of peace, beauty and magnificence, and we pray that humanity as a whole can imagine a borderless world as we see it, and strive to live as one in peace."

Yet another example of knowing your machine and having the proper training and motivation. A similar thing can be said said about the Fins and their Buffalos.
