Our next VHR race will be Talladega on Sunday, April 10th

We will be using the new VHR Stockcar 2011 which releases on February 16th (www.vhracing.net). I'll mirror it soon as I can get a download.

The actual Talladega race will be one week later.

VHR 2011 server's up with 'Dega.
Setup is from our 2010 'Dega race.
No clue how a 2010 setup works with the 2011 version.

Client download (should be faster than the VHR site)

Will test this out this weekend. So far haven't ran into any major issues with a single car test at Daytona (except the bumps are still there?).

I tried Daytona too. There is a mid-turn dip that's still there, which may not be accurate, but I'd guess the grip level is higher.
General smoothness? That may be improved, or I may just be imagining it. I'd have to do a back-to-back comparison. (Eliminating that dip may be future patch material?)

Talladega seems to work just fine with the new default VHR setup. A 40 tape setting... I'd have to play with that one at least.
From the VHR forums, there should be a new setup package out next week.

What version of rFactor do I need installed for VHR 2011?
Were the sound and framerate problems I read about fixed?
I read somewhere a recommendation from Guod about installing this mod as standalone, but
copying rfactor.exe and depositing it someplace was required. How do you copy the exe? And where precisely do you deposit it?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

you need plain old rFactor installed on your machine for the licensing issues.

I installed it last night, and did nothing special (aside from adjusting the field of view). No frame rate issue for me at all.

I've never copied over the rfactor.exe and both my 2010 and 2011 versions of VHR are stand-alone. I've put all my rF versions (I have rF installed 4 times and VHR 2 times) on my top-level C drive with no issues and no copy/paste of any rF.exes. Just pick the stand-alone version when you install and point it to it's own folder on your C drive. I called mine "VHR2011".

If you ever did have to install the rF.exe, you'd copy it from the top level of your rF install folder, and then paste it into the top level of your VHR folder. Not hard at all.

Thank you very much, Chunx! I just found an old rFactor disk that was laying around. I'll try your instructions.

if you don't have the latest version of rFactor, rFactor.net should have the latest patch/update that you can d/l and run once you've got your install squared away. I think you'll need that for VHR to run in stand-alone mode.
