As the title says I can't stop the planes from banking or turning left either on the runway or in the air.

I've only just got the sim and I'm using a speedlink black widow joystick. I have tried re calibrating the stick to no avail.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it!

It's possible that you inadvertently turned on the autopilot, and it is interupting your flight control - hit the z key and listen for an autopilot disconnect sound.

yup,

or you have a strong crosswind over the runway. Check wind with using shift-z.

Thanks for the help but it hasn't cured it.

Sorry for my complete lack of knowledge but when im watching the plane from an outside view the flaps (?) are moving by themselves.

Make sure the control surfaces are assigned to the correct joystick axes. On My X-52 the rudder is by default assigned to a rotary instead of to the rudder pedals - before I found out about this my planes also showed the same behavior as you describe.

You may need to recalibrate your joystick, or update it's drivers. You can calibrate the stick from within FSX by going into the settings>>controls menu.

Red_Bull,

Check all control surfaces to insure they are in the neutral position. There are keyboard control settings to put them in the neutral position. Hope this helps.

You should also configure and calibrate the joystick in Windows before you even jump into the simulator. Then confirm it in flightsim.

After checking EVERYTHING else mentioned, consider that you may need an updated driver from the manufacturer. Or maybe after that, consider the joystick might be incompatible with something else in your system. It happens on rare occasions.

Microsoft used to make a line of joysticks called "Sidewinder". They were well made, and not too expensive. They even made a nice force feedback version. Too bad it would refuse to work in their own "MS Flightsim" products, at least the later ones. It caused such headaches that Microsoft ended up killing the line of joystick products.

Is this a single engine prop by any chance?
