I had installed mine a few weeks ago and when I installed the OS I hadn't changed the bios to AHCI but did so afterwards. I checked the MS Exper score and it was 7.4 for the drive which was an improvement over the standard 7200 rpm HD.
After reading up on it and going through a major debacle with the doomed SandyBS Intel chip, I reinstalled on the same Gigabyte mobo as before but made sure to change the bios settings for the 80 gb Intel SSD and after completing the install I checked the MS Exper score and it was 7.8. The CNET article I read said that this step was crucial to getting the fastest performance from the SSD.
I'm totally solid on these drives and plan on getting a bigger one when the prices drop a bit as projected.
what did you change in BIOS to make the score higher.. thanks
